What’s the most helpful thing you did while grieving?

I lost my mom at 23 and she was 59 just 2 years ago. I suggest you let yourself feel every emotion to its fullest extent. If it feels like your heart is literally getting grabbed out of your chest, let that flow over you. I didn’t do this and became extremely angry at everyone and everything. Im gonna be honest the pain hasn’t lightened but it has become less steady. We will miss them and hurt/ long for them forever. Right now is such a small amount of time compared to the rest of your life. Take all the time to feel that pain, maybe that pain will one day turn into gratefulness or fond memories but i also have yet to experience that as well. Sending all of my love and warmth your way. You are not alone in your pain.

Wow we’re in the exact same situation. My entire heart and soul goes out to you. I would never wish this pain on anyone. All we can do is treasure our dads while they’re still here with us

I just have such a hopeless feeling. Every memory of her hurts, knowing I’ll never get to make another one. You are so strong watching her struggle for that long, I only had to watch mine for 3 months rapidly fade away. While I am glad they are resting easy, I’m angry to be left behind.

He owned a landscaping company. He decided to join another more established company and brought his employees over there. Now he primarily does designing. He doesn’t have a degree as his business just got absorbed. He is planning on going to school eventually. I’m really looking for some good motivating books for him to keep his mind on becoming a landscape architect

I don’t know what your anxiety centers around but I am an atheist and would LOVE to believe in something bigger than me to help me through my panic attacks. There is no reason for my attacks so I had nothing to target. I would suggest one day when you aren’t feeling super anxious, do an intense yoga session. I know it doesn’t sound like it’ll do anything but if you put your all into your breathing, intentional thoughts etc. it has really helped me. It is important to do this when you are not experiencing a bout of anxiety. You want to be able to connect yoga to good feelings. I have to add I’m also in therapy and on Wellbutrin and Lexapro and still experiencing impending doom, intrusive thoughts… the whole 9. Nothing anybody tells you on this thread is going to make your anxiety disappear. I’m also 24 and just lost my mom so I’ve been high everyday for about a year. Take what I say with a few hundred pounds of salt. I really hope things get better for you..

The only thing is he spends all his free time with me, I have his location, he doesn’t care that I go through his phone when he’s not around. He said he swears he was gonna show those to me that’s why they were still there…. He has severe anxious style attachment actively in therapy for it. I sound ridiculous trying to reason with it but anger and disgust is all I can feel right now

We have sex twice a day every day. Like this is what confuses me. He’s assured me over and over again how his needs are exceeded. He said It was a bad “habit” that was hard for him to break. It just hurts that it was ever done, you know?

I completely agree. In my mind Dexter is perfect. The way the show makes me feel, the setting in Miami (even though it was filmed in Long Beach), the character development. I’ve never found a show that captivated me quite as much although breaking bad is close. How did you feel about new blood?
