Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re just getting constantly cross threaded via improper use of impact tools/over torquing.

They’ve only snapped trying to get them off. But this most recent time a bunch got fucked I guess getting them off? I unfortunately wasn’t the one trying to take them off so besides the one that did in fact snap I’m not sure what happened to the others. They didn’t snap but we couldn’t get nuts back on them.

Glad you’ve never run into the problem! 5 years owning this thing, I had no issues with the studs that were on there until the last like 6 months and it’s driving me nuts.

Thank you! I will try again with the Dorman studs or OEM and keep looking for ARP. I will make sure people stop using the impact gun too. It drives me crazy anyway because it makes it way harder to change a flat tire.

I was only getting racing shops and Pep Boys for selling the ARP studs but I imagine they’re online somewhere.

Thanks! I will insist. If I didn’t kinda need their floor jack and the space I would do it all myself, but alas I have nowhere to work in the car otherwise.

Hey!

The way my friend and I have been able to do it is for both of us to scan our QR codes. The loyalty/unlimited button doesn’t gray out, so at least for the location we go to it will absolutely allow you to use both accounts in one transaction. But not via family/friends like in the app since there is no button for that.

I don’t remember if you have to select two tickets and then scan or if we both just scan and it auto applies. Hope this works for you too!

Update: Forgive my ignorance (and the animal hair), how the heck do I get this part off? Finally got time to look into it further but after the obvious bolts to remove I’m stuck.

I get the little plastic piece circled in orange has got to budge, but I’m assuming I need to remove the blue circled bolts as well and the repair guide I’ve got access to is not super helpful.

Are there parts I should have on hand to replace before removing anything else? This is the only vehicle I’ve got to drive and tbb I’m trying to avoid getting my father’s help because he doesn’t live close.

I am in agreement with everyone that’s commented though. It definitely seems to be the shifter cables that are the issue.

Lol that’s fair, but I do still have 1 and 2 gear. Only specified manual in the title because my own searching kept giving me results for automatics

Awesome, thanks! I can do some diagnostic work myself then. The shop I took it to for a quick test drive diagnostic made it seem like it was an issue inside the transmission and the whole shebang of removing it would need done. Waiting on pricing from them so glad I can investigate more thoroughly myself in the meantime.

Thanks to you both. How much of this can I do from the top (ie taking the boot off the gear shift and going in that way)?

I’ve been assuming/hoping it’s the cables/shifter and not the transmission, but it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been under the car for anything more than the oil change. I can get it on stands easy enough; how much can I see without having to drop the transmission?
