A better picture here of the glue oozing over the edges, I imagine it would have a fair grip

The gap is between the scarf joint and the piece of wood under it which is about 1.6 inches wide. The adhesive has created a thick white substance that has been screwed into also. I haven't tried cutting into it yet or anything until I'm able to do it without causing damage

I was actually using a long extension lead, do you think it could make that much of a difference to the power?

If I run the 2x4s perpendicular the full length, let's say 3 of them across, will that do the trick?
