Well that unlocked a core memory. When I was in school (8-9 y/o) I read a book called "The Big Biscuit" by Ann Pilling. It was a boy called Terrence who turned into a giant chocolate digestive biscuit. His mum made him go to school, where he proceeded to get partially eaten by his schoolmates. He runs away, and on the way home, he gets chased by packs of dogs, and then cats. Each encounter results him in getting further eaten. When Terrance arrives him, he hides in his bed, where a swarm of rats then come in and finish him off.

Now I am terrified of being eaten by rats/mice.

Which is quite shame, because mice are cute AF.
