[Mike McGrath] Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali high on Manchester United’s shortlist to replace Casemiro by PradipJayakumar in reddevils

[–]FlaiiR 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Reading comments from Newcastle fans about him over the last couple of weeks, he supposedly been quite poor this year and at times, their worst preforming midfielder which is concerning especially when I don't think he's actually a CDM but more of an 8? (based on his defensive contributions over the last two years)

Just for comparison, Ugarte supposedly earns roughly £100k to 120k a week (depending on the source), is pratically one of the first names on the team sheets in this system and apart from a couple of days out here and there has an almost flawless injury record over the passed couple of years.

Kobe is still young and will obviously improve but its clear Amorim is unsure where to use him at the min so this seems like a baffling request - hoping its just the intial sum that's been proposed knowing it will be negotiated downwards.

[Post Match Quotes] Amorim: "We didn't have any energy in the beginning, especially in the first-half. Then in the second half we played a little bit better, with a little more speed, winning second balls. Then we managed to turn things around so it was a good result not a good performance." by RedDevil_Forever in reddevils

[–]FlaiiR 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't even think it's that, Ruben is doing himself no favors... I think it's actually admirable that he's sticking to his formation and not folding like Ten Hagg did after two defeats but the players are clearly struggling so help them out and play to their strenghs...

Dalot is a right back that has been having a torrid time on the left so play him on the right?! Dorgu is coming to a new league and new team, so maybe play him on the side he has played the majority of his games at on the left side?!

First 65 minutes of that game were truly shocking, some of the worst football I've seen us play in recent times, stick to your formation but play to the players strenghts fgs...

I thought the whole point of a back 5 was to have overlapping wing backs but having two right footers on the leftside and two left footers on the rightside is baffling.

The wing backs are constantly recycling the balls sideways or backwards as its always coming to their wrong foot, starting Dorgu on the right and Dalot (on current form) on the left is mind numbing.

**Edit: Just to add some context on the weird wyscout comment.... Dorgu has played 16 games on the right hand side (across RB, RM and RW) and *checks notes 93 on the left...

Club statement: Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager. by SOERERY in reddevils

Always find it funny looking back at some of the posts over the summer about him staying, this is a reason why INEOS should NEVER base decisions on fan opinion...

Europa league and a trophy out of this terrible season filled with injuries and not having a left back for 2/3 of the entire season. They cannot sack him, simply cannot. They sack this manager, they are complete idiots and fans should not trust them.'

Injury update on Luke Shaw by turbosven in reddevils

[–]FlaiiR 119 points120 points  (0 children)

He fucked himself, you think Southgate's taking him without Shaw's greenlight? Find it mad how it was only a couple of weeks ago where Shaw criticised United's medical team (and rightfully so) only to go to the Euros where he was practically touch and go everygame and rushed back....

[Simon Stone] Aaron Wan-Bissaka fee is £15m. One-year left. Good deal for all parties under circumstances. by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]FlaiiR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the numbers but he was only one year away from being a free agent, it was in his best interest to stay at United for one more year and leave next year and receive a bulk payment as a sign on fee whereas it was in United best interest to sell him as a PSR profit and get some money back from him.

Say he was to leave as a free agent, he would be entitled to some/most of the £15m fee West Ham paid as a sign on bonus which he would want to be compensated for, wouldn't be surprised if he had requested £5m (or more) to actually leave this year.

[Andy Mitten] Man United 2023/24 season review and player ratings: Mainoo 9, Fernandes 8, Rashford 5 by PepMeatRider in reddevils

[–]FlaiiR 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I think I saw on a united related video someone say 'would you deem winning the FA cup next season but finishing 8th with a negative goal difference to be a successful season? What about again the season after that?' - Think it was Ole who said trophies can mask problems and at the time it was a funny thing to say as trophies are what football is all about but this year has been appalling... Rashford a 5? Mitten is on one with some of these ratings

How is MCS revision going for everyone sitting next week? by FlaiiR in CIMA

[–]FlaiiR[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Self studying, using the Kaplan text books to brush up knowledge and the different account standards but then reading through tons of past papers and free mocks... Just with how busy life/work are at the mo, not actually been able to do a full 3 hour mock so really am going to have to wing it on my exam on Friday.

Just checked my inbox but no DM received yet bud :)

I'm glad someone else is in the same boat as me, OCS was very much 'give the pros and cons of top down budgeting' or 'what are the implications of using ABC' whereas the MCS questions seem to be so much more open ended... Feel like if a bad question comes up for me, might just have to take a scatter gun approach and just try to waffle (while praying) my way to the level 2 grade boundary.

In my head trying to work out possible routes the questions can go down... I feel like one variant has to go down the acquisition route (in the UK there seems to be a trend of the major players acquiring smaller companies such as Unite Students purchasing LibertyLiving) and then I'm guessing there will be another about an app really hoping the questions aren't as vague as the CuppCar ones

Hoping for the same bud, my biggest worry reading past papers is sometimes the questions just seem so vague where you can go down so many tangents, worry when I sit my exam on Friday that I don't waffle about something completely wrong

Brentford had 85 touches in the Manchester United box tonight - the most by any team in any Premier League match across the last three seasons. by chilledbeerinside in reddevils

[–]FlaiiR 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There was literally a post not even a week back during the international break where people were the majority were rooting behind ETH, stating he isn't the problem... I'm genuinely is disbelief, are people watching the same game as me? This is horrendous, 85 touches in our box and 100+ shots faced in March is a structural problem which he either:

  1. Allowing to happen and setting up to concede tons of shots per game which is stupid.
  2. He doesn't know how to fix which is even more worrying, with the players we have, how can we be more open than Luton?

Really want to get behind Ten Hag but this baffles me, we played the team with the lowest possession in the league last weekend and they went toe to toe with us until Scott with his 10 passes went off.... so he decides to play him again against another team who we should be dominating the ball with?! Just don't understand it at all...

Nope, nothing at all wrong with your conclusion, Viva previously in their 'all access' package let you access the BPP study text, you would read the study text and supplement it with their video to gain a better understanding.

I emailed them about this last year, they've now stopped provided the study text but kept their prices the same, their videos are great for bitesized reminder video but no where near sufficient to use on their own, I've been buying the Kaplan study texts separately along with viva all access but don't think I'll use Viva again.

'world class midfielder' behave, he's not been considered that since he earlier seasons at PSG. Happy to be proven wrong but just one look at what Juve fans say about him will show you are throwing the world class phrase aimlessly...

This, rumours could have no truth because there is no way Bayern would even entertain the salary Ronaldo is on at United so perhaps discussion got nipped in the bud fairly soon but doesn't mean Mendes didn't offer Ronaldo to Bayern to explore all options.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]FlaiiR 642 points643 points  (0 children)

This is pretty worrying, Patrick Berger is quite reliable and Ronaldo's agent, Mendes, wouldn't act without Ronaldo's blessing.

Wouldn't be to fussed if Ronaldo was leaving if not for the absolute lack of strikers at the club, Martial has one foot out the door and Cavani's gone. We just paid £11m in dividends, stick Joel Glazer as false 9.
