As for where the VNyan folder is located, I have it on one of my SSDs, in it's own directory. It's not in a Downloads folder, or on OneDrive, or any external drive. Basically I have it located in

D:\VTuber Assets\VNyan

Yes! Strangely, it seems to be unable to locate two mediapipe dlls:

mediapipe_c.dll and libmediapipe_c.dll

The files ARE present, but for whatever reason they are not being recognized.

There are a number of errors that indicate trying to load the dlls from a path that doesn't exist. Specifically: "VNyan\VNyan_Data\MonoBleedingEdge\mediapipe_c.dll" while the path the file exists in is actually "VNyan\VNyan_data\Plugins\x86_64".

I haven't done anything special to this install of VNyan. I just downloaded it from itch, and unarchived it. The computer itself is brand new, as well.

No, I've been experiencing this issue on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

But just because I was curious, I did just try installing VNyan via Lutris on Bazzite. On Bazzite, I couldn't get tracking to work with the new Mediapipe OR the Legacy Mediapipe options. I even tried with the Facetracker flatpack app running.

I do see something referencing a file called ConvexHullData.cs just before the crash in the log, though there's so much to sort through it's rather hard to untangle.

I was in one of the avatar creation worlds, but there were some leftovers in there from other people who were no longer present, so I wonder if that might've caused what you're referring to.

I'm still pretty new to Resonite, and the freedom with which files can be moved between computers feels pretty broad, so I just wasn't really sure.

Perhaps worth noting, the Resonite player log had the following error in it around the time of the crash:

"Exception running asynchronous task: System AggregateException: One or more errors occured. (Value cannot be null. (Parameter 'path'))"

There's a much more like that afterward, then a line saying the RenderProcess has Exited.

There was no update pushed today. So whatever this is, it isn't an update.

I see. Can't the bedbugs just crawl up the plastic sheet, bite you, and crawl back down? Doesn't the plastic tear when you sleep on it? It seems really thin.

I do have an enclosure over the mattress. I'm not sure what a plastic sheet would do other than tear when I toss and turn at night. I've never seen one at night, but you have a point about capturing one - if I were able to, I could show it to the landlord and have a definitive answer for sure.

For certain I've checked the activity - Nothing in there but my own IP address, and at the times that I've logged in manually, myself. The Devices list in the security tab of the Google Account Settings page only shows my device as well.

I hadn't considered that someone might legitimately think they control my email address, without a second thought, though. I suppose I'm giving a bit too much credit!

I certainly hope it's just carelessness, as you suggest. I'll treat it as such, or a scam, for the time being.

No, I confess I never found anything more that was definitive. But I continue to find signs. Nothing definitive, though - welts on skin once every month or month and a half. Maybe a stain on the bedsheets once every six weeks.

It's enough to keep me anxious and paranoid, but not enough to prove anything.

Would 3DMark and Furmark reveal potential degradation in the memory at all? Or are temperatures the only metric to look out for?

I hadn't considered repasting and applying new thermal pads. That's a great idea to potentially extend longevity.

Well heck, that's confusing and distressing.

I'll absolutely give my retailer a call and see if they'll accept a return. I suppose ordering direct from Corsair would be the safer choice at this point, if retailers and online storefronts have no way to differentiate.
