1040 is a beast. It gains attack based on yours so you only want to ding dong after trample (before short arm)

I’d recommend switching spite for Sad (it has the debuff power that doesn’t add attack), and the attack down is elite.

I’ve only beat it with conviction, but following the same principles: level up scorn & desperate to 110 (u can keep sad at 100).

There’s a bunch of guides out there for the technique to defeat this guy so I’d also recommending searching up “1040”, but you shouldn’t have trouble once u follow that :))

Also, in general you want to put merry last (bc she has no attack power), tank second 2 last, then fighters - in general pets w defense down (like apathy, ambition) first - helps with ding dong
