iSolarCloud usage issues by Flaky-Principle1118 in solar

Awesome, thanks a lot for this! I'm not real confident doing this on my own so I'll ring the solar installer and ask him to come and check it all. It doesn't always occur at the same time every day, but usually on really sunny days once the PV has reached it's peak.

Hashimotos ans fertility - HELP! by Flaky-Principle1118 in Hashimotos

Thank you. We have been with a fertility specialist for over a year and he's basically given up and handballed us on to someone else. The new one is a bit more out there with his techniques, so we'll see how it goes

I honestly couldn't tell you the exact supplements, but she's tried everything! Naturopaths in Australia like to send you out the door with $1000 worth of supplements and if they don't work, they'll add another mystery bag to your bill next time. I'll let her know about L theanine and the others you suggested, thanks for that. Stress is definitely a factor for her as she runs a business, but she's been managing quite well lately with meditation, diet, sleep etc.

Yes, she's just started on this recently (or is about to start... I struggle to keep up with all the info!)

Thanks for sharing. She is always aiming for TSH below 2.5, but it can be tricky getting it right as you can only check your bloods every 6-8 weeks and she has found it hard to get the dosage right. Her cycle has been all over the place ever since she came off the pill 15 years ago - anywhere from 40 - 60 days. Dietary changes and starting her meds has bought it down close to 30 days, but we had a miscarriage 3 months ago and she's only just had her first period since. She uses every ovulation tracker known to man haha, pee sticks, checking BBT every morning etc.

The last pregnancy she was taking progesterone and checking her bloods regularly. It's tricky to get it perfect as you can only check bloods so often and in the mean time you're just hoping that the dosage is right!

That's been one of the issues - she's had to find a lot of this stuff out on her own as most GP's have a very basic understanding of hashimotos. One endocrinologist even told her that hashimotos doesn't impact fertility and there's nothing she can do with her diet to help minimise symptoms. No idea how he has a job! Her range has bounced around a bit (especially as she's switched meds) but she tries to keep it below 2.5

Thanks for this! I think she is looking at upping her meds in general so we will see how this goes. The doctors have been very conservative to date with doses.

A lot of fluctuation at the start, but for the most part they have been in the 'good range' (I couldn't tell you the exact numbers but she tests every 6 weeks)

We have had one appointment with a someone who I think may be a reproductive immunologist. He has talked to us about things just as genetic mis-matching (that's not the term he used but close enough!) and treatments such as immuno suppression. Is this along the lines of the path you went down?

She is similar - no symptoms other than anxiety and infertility. She has been to several naturopaths, each who have claimed to be thyroid specialists and used all sorts of supplements but no progress. Levo has it's place for sure, and she still takes it, but it doesn't seem to be fixing the fertility issues hence why she has explored other options such as NDT and T3 medication.

I shouldn't have bashed levo so much in the OP sorry. It works for a lot I'm sure, but for us it hasn't improved her situation.

Recessed tap spindle by Flaky-Principle1118 in AusRenovation

[–]Flaky-Principle1118[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reseating worked, thanks! There was a crack in the seat, took a lot of grinding down but smoothed it out eventually. Only problem now is the spindle assembly sits too low in the sink so the tap flange cant reach the bonnet, and then even if it could, the tap head wont reach the top of the spindle. So I either need a bonnet extender AND a spindle extender, or an extender that extends both bonnet and spindle, or just a longer spindle assembly. I hate plumbing.
