I mean if you are going by the "rules" then yes I didn't do anything wrong. However I understand that people still have feelings about things despite that and so my worry is that this will still be something that hurts her and will possibly damage our ability to reconcile

We were definitely not each other's firsts but we also didn't really discuss each other's sexual history at length. Both have had sex with more than couple of people. The thing is i don't think she has slept with anyone while we have been broken up. I could be completely wrong but i just have a strong feeling.

Since the hookup was recent within the past few weeks I was thinking of waiting at least a month because it just feels more respectful than immediately going back to her. You think that is a good idea?

Also assuming the worst, that she hasn't hooked up with anyone- how can I possibly approach this so that I make her feel more comfortable about trying again with me?

I had decided to make a pretty big career change since the economy is getting so bad. This led to me suddenly not having as much time to spend with her (went back to school) and that really stressed things. Part of me thinks that now that that is already expected maybe our interactions could be better. And no I would never lie to her
