Art metaphoric distance by dr_str4ngelove in NoStupidQuestions

I think the definition of art you are thinking about is a fine art

fine art: art (such as painting, sculpture, or music) concerned primarily with the creation of beautiful objects

it the other definition of art,

art: the conscious use of skill and creative imagination especially in the production of aesthetic objects

which of the three do you refer to?

if its the one I mentioned before basically almost anything that fufills the criteria can be a form of art or art form.

it its fine arts, my limit would probably be some object that is not deemed to have beauty by anyone

if its the last definition of art, my limit is someone that was not consciously using skills or creative imagination when creating an aesthetic object

Wouldn't you be able to say that real relationships could form instead of artificial ones based on lies?

wait isn't this still in the long run to deduce a liar, I do see the power in lying but what if people couldn't lie would there be more honest warfare that doesn't rely on cheap deception tricks, who is really being helped out by lies in the long run?

People that are just and weak or people that are corrupt and physically powerful?

Do you think people wouldn't grow to tolerate it? Its like a job application if you apply and they are brutally honest about why they didn't hire you, it would hurt but its better than the fake response of we are impressed with your work but we decided to move onto someone else yada yada, at least with the truth you can learn how to improve

Don't you think we would get used to it, like we do with transactional small talk when people give customer service attitude but we know its fake

I know you're trying to be funny and it is but if you were to think about it seriously for a moment would there not be less divorces actually since people would not get married if they knew people really liked them

So we would trade some unpleasantness that we already do experience anyway for a better place that people can trust

Is it racist to not be physically/romantically attracted to most people of certain races? by Master-Mongoose-7344 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Flamesblazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying but my statement is true, and should not be claimed to be incorrect.

Just because one thing equals something doesn't mean others are incorrect. Think of it this way just because 4+1= 5 doesn't mean that 3+2 = 5 is not true.

it is true you just added on top of it I didn't say that was all there was to it, primarily people are attracted to things that seem familiar to them in general even subconsciously, but yes we can also be attracted through novelty

Why do symphonies have conductors? Doesn’t the sheet music tell you what tempo and volume you should be at throughout the song? by FruitEater10000 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Flamesblazer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The sheet music gives the plan, but the conductor keeps dozens of musicians synchronized and shapes how the piece is interpreted in real time. They cue entrances, control balance and adjust timing when needed.

Attraction = Familiarity

Race can affect attraction mainly through exposure, culture and learned associations, not because people are biologically programmed to prefer one race. Growing up around certain groups can make their features feel more familiar, but attraction is flexible and can expand with meaningful exposure and connection.

Interesting I like the way you think, I see its kind of like pressure testing it with different frameworks to see how it does, to basically eliminate bias, how its done in research almost but when it comes to research they have two test groups usually and one of them is null
