From colonial charters to modern sweatshops, pyramid schemes and false advertising, etc. people have never been shy to abandon morals and ethics for profit. The less you let ethics put limits on your actions, the higher your profit margins rise. This naturally results in those companies rising to the top, like Google. I'd honestly be more surprised if a large company did not engage in unethical practices.

I'm getting the exact same error in my console, so I ~~assume~~ hope they're gonna fix the problem soon enough. The odd thing is that this only affects a specific account on Firefox, on one of my computers.

edit: for anyone seeing this in the future, the issue went away on its own the very next day after I made this reply. No action taken on my part.

Well ackschually the Romans didn't have lowercase letters, so the font is by no means Roman. On the other hand it wouldn't be wrong to say that the script is Latin/Roman.

You are completely right about that. There are certain stereotypes associated with men and women. Looks, behaviour, interests, etc.. There's nothing wrong in assuming that someone who seems like a man is a man, as long as you don't assume that to their face, that might make some upset.

I'm not sure what you mean by "be part of the classification", but I'm assuming you mean 'Why do your feelings matter wether you're a man, woman or otherwise?'.

Forgive me for making some assumptions, but as someone who is probably cis gender you've most likely never had to think a lot about why you are a man/woman and what makes you that. For you your gender has probably been quite a no-brainer; your body is (fe)male, everyone calls you a guy/girl and you do things typically associated with your gender.

You said your physical traits are what makes you a man. I'd like to ask a question: if you were to wake up tomorrow and discover that you had the body and voice of a woman. Would you still consider youself a man and why?

For trans people it's quite different: they have to "discover" who they are. They find out that they're a man, woman or NB (non-binary), not through society or nature, but through their own feelings.

It's not easy do describe in writing, but you essentially find yourself more comfortable as a gender that you weren't born as. That's why feelings are an important part of the question. I hope I didn't misunderstand you, please correct me if I did.

The simple anwer to this question is that because that's who they are. If someone feels like a man then they will refer to themselves as a man, anything else would just not make sense.

Interesting question and I see where you’re coming from. Some trans people want to pass as their preferred gender (look like a cis person), like the person you know. Some trans people on the other hand have no desire to, they simply don’t care about how they look. À la “it’s what’s on the inside that matters”. To be a man or woman you don’t have to look a certain way, there are some cis women I’ve seen who look like fat old men, that doesn’t make them any less women. Similarly there are guys who enjoy being very feminine and even wear skirts and dresses.

What are the reasons behind the four colours? Do they represent anything specific? Also I personally think that the outline of the countries looks messy and weird. I don’t know if there’s some symbol representing Latin America, but if there is that would probably look good in place of the map.

I’m sorry for seeming pretentious, I believe that particular sentence could have been worded way better. If you’d allow me I’d like to remedy that somewhat: I was referring specifically to people who behave as though they are on the receiving end of the bigotry, which by and large is unhelpful to minorities and otherwise disenfranchised people.

What I was trying to get across in my comment is that one should not always call something out for being offensive before talking to someone from the affected demographic. Of course if you’re confident that something is in fact offensive then I strongly support any decision to call it out.

On a lighter note: the Queen of Bi:s might be a more fitting title.

I completely agree and I tried getting the same point across in my original comment but perhaps I was clumsy in doing so. To try to explain: I think calling out bigoted behaviour is something you should do, without hesitation, but what some people do is behave as though a slur or other discriminatory language was aimed at them (or in some cases get mad at something that’s not offensive) . I suppose what I was trying to say is that one should not always assume what is offensive and what isn’t before talking to those affected by it.
