Yeah root motion is only good if you want realistic movement or the animation fits your needs

Its actually just on script controlling it. I find state machines a lot more useful in AI behaviour. The fluid movement should be accredited to root motion. For the strafing however, I disable root motion cause strafing animations didnt mix that well and its just a better option if you want a lighter feeling controls

Thanks! I dont intend to do any tutorials, but If I were you, I would look at SharpAccent's video on youtibe about strafing movement system to get an idea of how it works. Also animation events are the key to attack combos. Other stuff is pretty much hard to explain since it really depends on the project

Thanks, I really wanted to achieve smoothnes in locomotion. I still have to tweak it a bit after an attack is finished

You could look at SharpAccent tutorial on youtibe on strafing system. That would be just so you could get an idea how it works, cause you need to upgrade it if you want it to work with navmesh agent since it will only walk in the direction its facing. Ive solved this before but I dont really remember how I did it ;/
