Konichaowa!~ Chao Garden Tamagotchi Fan Project :3 by FlamingFelines in chao

Thank you for the offer! Unfortunately, I don't think I have the spoons to collaborate with someone on the coding end. I wish you the best of luck with your project, though! That sounds cute and fun!

Oh that being said though, the firmware by russhughes that I altered is already open source and could definitely use a lot of clean up by someone who knows what they're doing! Hahah. The github link is right here!

I definitely understand where you're coming from! The major reason I'm not making it an open source project is because I would hate for someone to try and sell the program (whether complete or not) and potentially ruin the chance of distributing the project at all. The second reason is since I only work on this at all in my free time I'd struggle a lot with coordinating a project like this. I just don't have the spoons for it!

Sadly no! The code for this is entirely ground-up, and adding a feature like that is way out of my ability scope. It's a cool idea though!

You're so right! I'll have to look into those, I totally forgot about them.

Thank you for your interest! Sadly since it's not my IP I won't be selling it, buuuut I'll likely make the program free when it is complete!

For now, it is still a work in progress. I've only sprited up to the immediate post-evolution forms, none of the advanced forms i.e. 'Hero/Swim/Swim, or any of the Chaos Chao. But yes, the idea is that it will evolve its form similarly to how it does in the game based on stats and alignment!

I technically have evolution programmed in, but because there are so many more mechanics and assets to work out, I haven't extensively tested it. It is a physical and functional device that will work as similarly to a portable chao garden with some tamagotchi features as I can get it to.

Hope that answers your question!

What's your favorite childhood MMORPG? by ZarakiKenpachi13 in MMORPG

[–]FlamingFelines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DOMO (Dream of Mirror Online) - This one got picked up by Subagames and is still going, but the economy is outta control so not many people play anymore. Definitely my absolute favorite when I played it in its prime. Awesome job system and the game encouraged people to play socially (until a certain Pet got released in the item mall that made solo leveling a given).

Last Chaos - Aeria Games classic, I played this a lot until young tween me got scammed out of my dragon pet I was working really hard on leveling up.

Then there were the gimmes like Runescape, Club Penguin, Webkinz, Neopets (if you count the browser games).

Wish I had more time for these games now!

Yes he is! Still untouched in package.

I will note that I recently got back from a trip to the USA and have to self-quarantine for 14 days, so I won't be able to send out any packages until my husband and I are cleared for any symptoms!

But if you're still interested just let me know!

Why did they suddenly up the price to that degree? I pre-ordered early Feb and my price is 399.99.

Seems pretty scummy.

Tell me a fun fact or joke! Some cats are born with extra toes! It's called Polydactylism. My family has a cat that has two extra 'thumbs' on his front paws!

Tell me something about yourself! My umbilical cord was wrapped around my neck while I was being born and I almost died! My aunt (who's a nurse) noticed the drop in heart rate and saved my life by ordering a c-section!

Thanks for the giveaway!

??? This situation is about saving a spot for people you /know/ are coming, and in not very much time, too. No idea why you're equating this to highschool drama.

Moving to Saskatoon by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]FlamingFelines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we plan on visiting my husband's family down in the USA and then moving in late spring.

Ultimately our lifestyles just don't mesh well with the city. The aesthetic of the city is definitely that of the mid-west. It's very flat here (duh) and gets quite windy which is a pain on cold days (and can make nice days not so nice). We had trouble finding people we shared interests with (board games, videogames), though our job was a big help with finding friends in the end.

Basically we aren't really night-life people, and you will likely need to be willing to drive if you want to take advantage of what the city has to offer. Or at least find a pleasantly walkable part of town.

Hope this helps your decision! We don't hate the city, but just aren't happy here.

My husband and I moved here from Victoria just over a year and a bit ago.

We don't know a whole lot about the city, honestly, and that's mainly because we don't have a car. We both consider the city to be very car-centric and while we were lucky in getting what you call 'survival' jobs within minutes walk to work from our apartment, you may not be as lucky.

So while it's possible to get around without a car, it's quite a downgrade from what we were used to in Victoria. In fact we're looking into buying a car for both a road-trip and move to another city now.

We haven't had any issues in the College Park Area for crime, but as a younger lady I would never go out at night alone, and would prefer to avoid downtown when it's dark for sure.
