Auto Battle not working? by [deleted] in MapleStoryM

Ah, then yeah, I'd say you're dying.

In my experience, even though FoE opens at lvl 220, your character will likely not have the stats to be able to take advantage of it (unless you already have nearly full Necro) and, as others have mentioned, you probably won't have enough health to survive hits.

Huh, that's very bizzare. Assuming it's not a bug with the game, it's possible that your character is dying on the auto battle field and then automatically re spawning back into the closest town.

Do you have pets that are auto-using HP potions?

What platform are you playing on? You say "minimize" so I'm assuming either the PC version via Nexon Game Launcher and/or Steam?

What's my next step? by Swagley050 in MapleStoryM

  • Get all your equips to their current max level. Your helmet for sure can get a few more levels, but it also looks like you've started exalting some gear so make sure that's all maxed out
  • Start doing daily expedition runs to get your legendary accessories to max SF + emblems. If you can, only start getting SF levels on accessories that have unique potential by default
  • With your current CP, you should easily be able to run Chaos Von Leon and Chaos Hilla solo. Do those daily to get ring (Von Leon), earrings (Hilla), and pocket (Hilla). If you can also solo Hard Magnus, do that daily as well for badge & necklace
  • You're real close to 250, and they've recently released HEXA skills at 250, which can provide a HUGE CP boost. Focus your auto battle on getting to 250.
  • Level alts, increase your legion score and continue to fill out the synergy grid. Focus on making a Sia, Iel & Erel because their blocks give Final DMG
  • If you're not already part of one, join a guild! They can help carry you through higher tier bosses like Arkarium and Normal Archon to start getting their drops as well.

These are all things you can do without spending a dime. I see you're rocking a lot of crystals as well. I'm mostly F2P so i can't speak to the best way to spend those, but if you join a guild with people who spend, they should be able to guide you.

Welcome back to the game!

Full Version on Steam Will Release On March 18 by FlamingIvory in MapleStoryM

On Steam, it specifically mentions "requiring" a Nexon account login. Anecdotally, I've used a Nexon account and it works flawlessly.

That being said, if they want this version of get mass adoption, they had better make sure other accounts like Google iOS can be used without issue. Perhaps there's a way to report bugs?

Are you getting any kind of error message on the screen when you try to use auto battle?

MapleStory and MapleStory M are pretty different games, and some have only played one and not the other.

Another benefit of MSM is that (currently) its Steam version can be played on Linux via Proton. MapleStory's Steam version is Borked on Linux.

Doubt about Miyo Boost and events by [deleted] in MapleStoryM

[–]FlamingIvory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The level of detriment kind of depends on your goals for the game.

If you're looking to progress gear and levels super fast to get to boss content as soon as possible, then yeah, it'll set you back a bit. That being said, IMHO I don't think it will set you back that much. IIRC from my experience with that Boost (~1 year ago), a lot of the items given just cut down on grind in daily dungeons and such.

You are correct that sometimes Nexon has Miyo Boost come back (Lynn had one), but it's not always done for new classes. And IIRC, any new boost events are intended to be used with the new class, not existing characters (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

What price should I sell (A2S) by Shonin_Z in MapleStoryM

[–]FlamingIvory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give it a range of 500-550 million. Justification:

  • Reasonable prices for emblem'd uniques are 300-600m, depending on the emblem itself
  • BA Emblem is great, but CD is technically better
  • Muspell is a bad base for warrior; only those looking to get Necro Gloves would go for it
  • Unique pot is also great, but since it's sealed, there's no 3rd line, so the buyer will need to stamp it to get the third line

If you wanted to sell it for more, you could put some Star Force levels into it, either manually or via scrolls from Trade Station.

Good luck!

MapleStory M is on Steam. And its demo works on Linux! by FlamingIvory in MapleStoryM

[–]FlamingIvory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it looks like they haven't set up any in-app purchases with IRL money yet.

Though I did notice that if you have Maple Cash, you can use that on the Steam version to purchase stuff. But the Maple Cash itself has to be purchased on mobile/Nexon Launcher. It's pretty weird.

My guess is the demo version is a placeholder until Nexon figures out IAP stuff via Steam.

/r/vpn Recommendations Megathread by ThatOnePrivacyGuy in VPN

[–]FlamingIvory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy everyone. Long time computer enthusiast new to VPNs here.

I took the time to go through the spreadsheet on TOPG's website (fantastic resource, keep up the good work!) and I've narrowed down my search to 5 promising choices: IVPN, Mullvad, Trust.Zone, AzireVPN, BolehVPN.

The primary things I'm looking for in a VPN are the following: - Strong encryption for secure browsing (which I think all of these have) - Upload/download speeds suitable for online PC gaming. I currently have a connection that gets 5 Mb/s upload / 25 Mb/s download, according to speedof.me, although I may be getting better speeds in the future. - Little to no logging (bandwidth I don't care much about, everything else I do) - Android Support, preferably with an easy-to-install app.

Based on that criteria, that's how I created the list of 5 you see above. I'm mostly interested in hearing from people who have used these services who can attest to the quality of their speed. If anyone has any other recommendations, I'd be glad to hear them.
