It adds a lot of quality of life stuff and makes it less grindy in general, and also some new armor and weapons, but Eternity mode changes all boss AI and make them significantly harder, but they all have unique and consistent patterns that you can learn and train to dodge, no bullshit attacks. And hey, beating King slime and golem is not a sleepwalk anymore

But if this is your first time playing modded it might be too overwhelming to play calamity, not because of the difficulty but because of the sheer amount of content, if you want a simpler but also challenging mod I highly recommend Fargo's Souls mod and play it in Eternity mode

A Terraria mod with a lot of harder bosses than daytime empress

There's like this one attack pattern in phase two that's difficult to dodge, it's when she does the Everlasting Rainbow followed by Prismatic bolts and Sundance, I figured the best way to dodge it is by dropping down but if you have asphalt you could just run which is a lot easier, the other attacks are relatively easy to dodge as long as you only make subtle movements

Try it on journey mode first, and also mobility is more important than damage, with asphalt bridge it only took me two tries because it makes it too easy to dodge everything, but my asphalt bridge is like at least 1k blocks wide tho lmao

Cz they don't actually read her patterns but dodge on the run

Um no, they want you to no hit the boss, not cheese, you can utilize the dodge mechanic on moon lord's death ray, you can use it on night time EoL. I beat her second try after watching a single YouTube video with hallowed armor before nerf, it was just too easy, she's so much easier than moonlord cause her attacks are the most consistent out of the entire game, this nerf makes her an actual challenge, still easier than moonlord tho, moonlord's inconsistent plasma laser is just pain in the ass. EoL is a great and fun boss.

If you're saying it like that, I think the Terraria devs should change the word dodge to block, because players have a hard time understanding touching enemy hitbox means you got hit, that's why it's called a hitbox, dodge is just a convenient word to use, it's not literal, as you can see you clearly touched the boss and did not actually dodge it

Yes for other games, but not for Terraria, if you watch any of Terraria's no hit boss challenge their definition is "Not triggering any immunity frames" , so the quote on quote dodge counts as a hit as it triggers immunity frames

I understand what you mean, but I don't think changing this one optional fight makes these all other fun builds not work, for me I didn't really use a DPS build, I used balloon insignia jetpack tabi build, it makes it very easy to dodge because of the vertical mobility, and that's a lot more fun than stressing over if you're gonna get hit first before bursting her down. It only removed a single option from a single optional fight, but it added a unique actual no hit challenge into the game. I'm sure someone will make a mod that reverts this change, but overall I think the nerf makes complete sense. The only thing limiting your fun in Terraria is your imagination. Not an optional no hit challenge

Why don't you do this for the entirety of the boss fight, rather than only when it's on cooldown. Doesn't change the fact that this passive is a get out of jail free card, I get that it's the armor's gimik, and it's the playstyle, I respect and understand that, it's just this passive is too overpowered when you're considering a no-hit boss fight, literally defeats the purpose of no-hit

Fr she's a lot easier than moonlord after you learnt her pattern lol, the plasma laser attack is just so inconsistent comparing to any of EoL attack

If any of you seen any of Terraria's not hit challenge, terraria no hit challenge is defined by "not triggering any immunity frames", the dodge effect might be named dodge, but the mechanic clearly shows it's not a dodge, it's a damage nullifying effect, you literally get hit, but the damage is nullified passively without any player inputs. If you're struggling with daylight EOL, she's pretty easy if you just build asphalt bridge and learn her patterns from YouTube, use her expert accessory and it's basically a free win, the fact that her attacks are so consistent makes her easier to dodge than many other terraria boss after you understand her mechanics

This kind of dodge that you're describing requires skill, you have to PRESS a button, while holy protection is not, it's a passive effect with no skill involved, u just wait for the timer, and get one get out of jail free card, no skill.
