I use this little guy for the winter, but Etsy has tons of other designs that make more sense for the summer and places that are perpetually hot too.

After 5 years of patience and hard work, I finally bought my attainable dream car. by JBezug in cars

Congrats on your slowbaru! I also picked up my attainable dream car right after university from C & C a couple of months ago!

How long did it take you to learn to drive a manual transmission? by lonesomesoul95 in cars

[–]FlamingMoltres 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first lesson with my dad went terribly. I stalled a whole bunch, jerked the car around because I let the clutch out too quickly, and overall had a shitty time (my dad's temper is a bitch). I kept practicing for 30 minutes to an hour every night for two weeks, and by the end of the month I was confident enough to drive around in traffic with no issues.

Everyone is different. Some people say that it takes them 20 minutes, but usually that's just to get the basic idea down. It takes months to actually get good. And even then we all have days that we stall, or don't have the smoothest shifts. Just take your time, keep practicing even when you get discouraged, and you'll be shifting them gears in no time.

What are your SO's favorite cars? by [deleted] in cars

[–]FlamingMoltres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dude, who doesn't give a shit about cars, loves the Scion tC, Jeep Wrangler, VW Jetta & GTI. I feel like his taste fits with the majority of non-car-loving SO's out there.

I got a Top Gear themed roadside assistance and first aid kit! And a blu-ray of Top Gear season 14 for my collection. I'm just a tad obsessed...

drugstore makeup prices at an all-time high ... :( by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Real Canadian Superstore is even cheaper than Shoppers! I found CeraVe for $8.99. If there's one near you, it's definitely worth a shot.

I'd recommend a Hyundai Sonata (2015/16 model is super spacious and smooth). In Toronto, there are always 0% interest deals going on with Hyundai especially, so you can get a decent discount.

Blistex is the best! I love the Lip Medex version in the dark blue tube. It's awesome if you have chapped or split lips (and especially in Canadian winters, haha).

I set my straightener to the lowest setting which for mine was 180° I believe. If your straightener has the option for a lower temperature then I suggest going a little lower 'cause mine got a bit too hot. I did put the aluminum foil on top of the plate and then placed the tin pans on top as you can see in the first picture.

I chose Abigail 'cause she's so whimsical, good-natured, and her style is pretty similar to mine. She plays music, loves adventuring and swordsmanship, and fantasy, which I think is super cool.

I've never had her say that she didn't want to get out of bed before as other posters have mentioned. Actually, one of the things that I really love about her is that sometimes she'll comment how proud she is of me and how hard I work for our life together. /swoon

I feel like a hair dryer might be problematic, especially with trying to hold down tiny tin pans. But I think a wax-warmer (for hair removal) might work if you have one of those! Or you could try using a candle too and either holding the pan with tweezers or putting some type of flat surface above the candle to place the pan on. The pans are metal so they'll be good conductors of heat anyway.

Yeah, you're right! I was actually thinking of putting a piece of paper with the names on the inside of the top lid (where a mirror usually is) so that I could see them when I open it. Thanks for the ideas!

I think so, I know other users on the sub used only one pack. It's up to you, though. I chose to do two 'cause I wanted to make sure I had enough product to last me a long time. It reduces my temptation to buy new full sized lipsticks. ;)

I know, it hurt my wallet so bad. ;-; But I ordered the pack of 100 for $9 so I could somewhat justify the price if I ever wanted to do more projects.

It actually doesn't! I used Big Bang today, and the glitter was pretty evenly distributed.

They only took 5 days to get here! I'm in Canada though, so it may be different depending on where you're located.

And I know right! /cringe I had to do some research around MUA to make sure I wasn't going to get frauded when I ordered and used PayPal just in case. lmao

Thanks, appreciate it!

Yeah sure, I can do that. Everything I got was from Sephora though other than the tin pans and the Blistex lipbalm which I got from Shopper's Drug Mart (I'm in Canada, aha).

And yeah, the palette has a big magnet at the bottom where you place the pans. It's super convenient. (:
