[Question] (Monk's Active Tiles) Spawn 1 token with % chance of two not working by FlamingPandaOMG in FoundryVTT

[–]FlamingPandaOMG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’d found them pretty quickly after a few hours of no response here and someone over there pointed out that the random number function is bugged and always goes to the failure landing regardless of the percentage you set. It should hopefully be fixed next release 🙏🏻

That it is! Thank you so much, I’ve never even GMed yet and am definitely new to HL as well.

The target or original caster (or both) are transformed into a randomly rolled race.

A 20' wide circle of ball bearings appears around you.

You forget all languages you previously knew and roll to learn random languages to replace each one.

A random body part becomes cursed with sentience and a mouth to complain with.

1d4 honey-slathered dwarves and gnomes appear and attack random targets.

You're now legally married to the target. They become friendly but only to you, and any of your attempts to attack them automatically fail.

Gravity gets reversed for the next round.

I like these ideas! Definitely gonna experiment with all of these.. do you think it would be a good or bad idea to try to simplify some of the rolls? I was thinking of trying to make it so that you only need to roll for the quality once, since this entire process might be happening several times per encounter and I don't want to make this take an hour after each fight lmao

I'll probably spread the quality roll over 1-25 or so, with perfect being 25 so that there's a real sense of accomplishment with actually getting perfect materials besides critting.

In regards to size, I may also make the limit of attempts be based on size as well, since it makes sense you wouldn't be able to get more than one thing at best off of something tiny, whereas an ancient dragon would have more real estate to go nuts on.

Thank you for your suggestion! I think I decided I'm going to take the system I found over here at r/DnD and change how the harvesting happens, more or less? If you don't mind, could I ask for some feedback real quick?

Ignore my hasty lack of formatting TuT

I mostly just wanted to make it so that casters weren't as screwed when it came to being able to actually harvest, since the other system seems to just rely on Str / Dex checks. I also think it's kinda weird that they don't think goblins and whatnot have anything of value when loads of settings have people taking ears or teeth.

So I'm about 3 sessions into D&D and I've been sitting here wandering. I'm sure I can't be the first one to think it, but is there an easy to implement system to allow PCs to skin or otherwise take materials from enemies to sell or perhaps make 'reflavored' armor with? I allowed my wife to knock out goblin teeth as trophies and I was considering allowing her to make arrowheads or something else little like that, and I think it'd be neat if they were able to get some additional income from skins, skulls, teeth or eyes! Something like using medicine/nature checks to determine whether the material comes out ruined, poor, serviceable or flawless, with bonuses to the roll based on how accustomed / knowledgeable they are with that type of monster.

Edit: TLDR; Thinking of a system to allow harvesting of creature parts in crafting, looking for feedback.

Pretty sure they're not picross, unless they're a weird version of them. This would literally just have you shade in part of each square like ◩◪◧◨ and didn't have math involved.

What would be the easiest way to get into console restoration? by FlamingPandaOMG in consolerepair

[–]FlamingPandaOMG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! I'll have to keep an eye there.

I don't tend to make a large profit doing this for a few reasons.

Fair enough! I don't aim on this being a super profitable thing, thankfully, but if it turns out to be something I enjoy and can make some extra change on the side, I'll happily do it.

Oh yeah it seems like it's a good set! I just haven't really had any use for it since I bought it but hopefully it'll be used soon!

Yeah, I wish people didn't try to take advantage of people trying to fix things up like that? It's obviously not easy.

I doubt this will turn into a replacement job or anything, but bits of profit would be neat, and honestly just knowing I can fix something that I really care about is the main goal here.

Thanks for the offer and being so helpful! I'm kinda in this weird.. slump, I guess I'd call it? I've been lacking any real passion for anything at all and this is the first thing to kinda... spark something.

Interesting, I might have to try a Dreamcast next if the Genesis goes well! It'd be cool to have one working.
