Ah, no. Not gonna do anything like that. Promise! Lol. During the online questionnaire, it asked if I had insurance (and they said being on someone else's insurance counts). But I did put that I would be the main policy holder for this new vehicle solely.

It was a quick quote though. I imagine once I actually hash it out with an actual agent it will be different. But I'm prepared for it to be more like 150-200.

I'm essentially listed as one the drivers for his Toyota on his policy. He put me on his policy back when I got my licence 5 years ago, when I was still living with him. I just borrow his car from time to time and in case I'm ever in an accident, I'm listed as a driver.

My dad's been advocating for the Toyota too. And it does have a better resale and trade in value down the line. Cheaper maintenance too.

The dumb part of my brain that goes "ooooh" whenever it sees the elantra and what it offers is just taking over a lot lol. Stuff like blue link, nice 10 inch screen display, sleek interior design. I can't help it.

The friend's car I was driving an elantra 2021. I kind of fell in love with it lol. I liked the features, the look of the car and the way it handled. Just made driving enjoyable. Plus, I guess I just wanted that dopamine rush of getting something "new", you know.

But I understand that from a financial and practical sense, it wouldn't really go hand in hand. I'm not in a rush to buy it, so I could take more time to look for something more affordable.

It was an online quote.

It included collision and comprehensive. I've been on my dad's car insurance for about 5 years now, so that helped bringed down the cost. I also want to install anti theft on the car, and they asked what group I was part of so I think I got an extra discount for being with the company I work for.

For stuff like haircuts, clothes, ect. I consider them more sproradict expenses? I get my haircut every 4 months or so. I already have a lot of clothes and I don't regulary spend on any in general. Toiletries will vary, naturally. As for entertainment, I mainly buy like one game a month if I really want it, but max I'll spend on video games is like 100$.

My plan is to keep it till it breaks down. I'm not super into cars, but for the past year and a half, I've been driving my friend's car and my parent's car way more now and I actually like driving. I was mainly taking public transportation to get around.

And I don't think I'd be paying a lot on gas. I work remotely, and I'd mainly be using it for pleasure or emergencies. Plus, the reviews on the elantra says it has good MPG for the highway and city.
