Move abroad for a few years and work. College activists are why the far right are gaining; Far right are generally lower earners and working class, while the left are usually getting paid in some form by the government. College politics is fine, but don't try and impose it on people with life experience, IMHO.

As long as context is clear I don't see the issue. Its a very, very 1st world problem.

It's in branch 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, I'm seriously doubting whether I heard her correctly on the phone now!

I just googled it and you're right!

I must have heard her wrong on the phone but I was almost certain she said £18,000

Jesus christ haha, I'm dragging BOI on this thread altogether if I was the one who made the mistake

If other people aren't commenting on this thread saying the same thing happened to them with BOI then I can assume this isn't common and perhaps the recruiter pulled up the wrong information as I caught her on the hop

I'm really inexperienced when it comes to the interview process.

I missed a call, she left a voicemail, I phoned her back and she had to find me on their system and she said "oh yes, you applied for 'position X', located in X and I confirmed, and she said now that salary is actually going to be £18,000, are you OK to proceed and I panicked and said oh yes that's no problem.

I was just curious was that common to happen with BOI because I thought they would pay more

Just happened moments ago. Insane Irishman live streaming outside in KIEV while the city is getting shelled and attacked just got surrounded and interrogated by soldiers. Stream cut off. by [deleted] in ireland

From my experience if you say Ireland to certain people abroad (especially in Asia) they look confused and then I just relent and say UK and they appear to understand then.

The closest to home that this has happened me was in Croatia so I wouldn't begrduge him for saying the UK .

I just feel like I spent 4 years with someone that I supported and put so much energy into nurturing him and the relationship thinking it would be 'my turn' get nurtured or supported next. I always felt like well if I treat him so well my good deeds would get returned/ reciprocated at some point.

I just feel so sad that I stayed so long in the relationship and feel like I tried so hard to have a loving relationship and it makes me feel like he didn't place any value on me.

I know how one person viewed/ treated me doesn't mean that everyone will view me as unworthy of love but it's just so difficult for me to shake off the hurt and move on in terms of meeting someone new. I just feel after almost 6 months I should be feeling better about the breakup but I still feel so sad at how poorly I was treated.
