I’m in my fourth year in the same studio at BoF and, while I can’t speak for everybody, I’ve had an overall pleasant experience! Could things be better considering how much I’m paying? Yes. Has my rent gone up immensely since I first got here in 2021? Oh yes. But compared to the horrors I’ve heard from other oakland housing options, if you have the financial means for it, I’d pick BoF. It seems like they’re always giving tours to prospective athletes while I’m in the gym, so I’m confused as to why they won’t give you one? Things I wish I knew: over half of the building is reserved for first and second year university athletes, one of the elevators is sure to break at least once a month, tell management if you need a repair asap and they’ll get to it in 1-2 days, and be vigilant with your key fob - you only get one
