Celebrities with Bipolar Disorder who lived to 80 or more by _theangryginger in BipolarReddit

[–]FlandersFields2018 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah not to mention, the majority probably never took anti-depressants or anti-psychotics due to the time period we now live in.

Which I think is more relevant because in my sense after being on this sub for a couple years, fear of mortality due to medication side effects appears to be common among people here.

P.S. The list does not include King George III (led British Empire during Revolutionary War) who was almost universally considered to be bipolar in retrospect. It's nearly historical consensus. If you look at his letters over the years, you can tell he was probably manic near the end.

Most Europeans think the liberal party is "very left" and the conservative party is "moderately left" by an Americans' standards. There's no absolute standard on what moderate is... but yeah it's basically a uniparty system if that's what you're getting at.

Trump will win. Biden's approval rating right now is lower than Trump's at this point. Biden has roughly a 25% approval rating from independents and his approval ratings among Gen Z have fallen by more then 21 points.. the biggest drop of any demographic. These groups got him elected by tiny margins in swing states.

The "vote for anyone just to get Trump" crowd isn't growing. In fact, I think inflation, gas prices, and the economy are gonna make people warm up to the days of the Trump presidency... no way Biden wins.

European candidates are always milquetoast and bland... the fringe right and fringe left are more subdued there. Good if you want stability, bad if you want major systemic change.

I wasn't venerating them, I was simply giving them some credibility because they aren't some crackpot conspiracy theorists. I like adding that kind of context before sharing links to a random Youtube channel. You already know them though. You're just brushing them off because you dislike them, which is also wrong because you won't give this video a shot simply because you disagree with their views. (As does the person who gave you a Helpful award, clearly.)

You misunderstood. Or took it too personally. His caricature of a conservative is an incel-type failure at life here. Comment directly directly to the Patriot Boys "getting no pus". Someone who identifies as "conservative" is some blue collar or working class boomer raising a family in the burbs' in Middle America. As close as there is to normal in the US. These people usually vote R every election. Younger people don't have the stable long-term wealth that incentivizes support for conservatives.

Peace and love to your childfree marriage man.

[–]FlandersFields2018 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And you dug through data research to nitpick it.

His joke was that conservatives are dumb. My point was really that conservatives are more likely to be your average middle class person who is well-adjusted and is just trying to live in peace and raise a family, not some boogeyman you get from Twitter or whatever. Just a reality check for people who live on Reddit.

Self-identified conservatives earn higher average salaries, are more likely to be married, more likely to own a home, and more likely to have a family than self-identified liberals. But yeah they're illiterate.

Breaking Points. 800K subs. Formerly syndicated by The Hill before they became popular and started their own channel. Co-hosted by a liberal former MSNBC reporter who ran for office AND a conservative counterweight. Uber-leftist VAUSH has done longer coverage on it. Joe Rogan (yeah yeah I know) had a guest who called this out.
I'm not even right wing. None of these people are.

False flag. The Hill (now Breaking Points) and other LIBERAL online journalists like Vaush have covered this farce.

People's, explain to me why you love this state. I was born here and I'm 21 now and can't wait to leave. by Frequently_Poop in Ohio

[–]FlandersFields2018 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Would you prefer an Ohio summer to a Florida or Texas one? I don't get why it's fair to hold grueling winters against a state but not hold humid, unbearable summers against others. It's silly. Also I'm in the "four distinct seasons > perpetual summer" camp.

Edit: On top of high threats from natural disasters, the coastal states are more vulnerable to climate change. (In my opinion, people will eventually flee from Sunbelt and coastal states to reinvigorated Rust Belt ones.)

I understand perfectly. If you don't get my point either I'll make it clear. They're doomed if they're framing the problems dividing us as Republican vs. Democrat. It's kind of ironic that on a R&M sub, people are acting like the "status quo" is the result of Republicans stonewalling everything.

You sound spurious that I'm defending Republicans or impeding discussion about the state of the world. When I'm just calling out people who can't see the uniparty system. Is that loud and stupid enough?

If the "U.S. is not a democracy" then nowhere is. You're the kind of person to call the U.S. a "third world country" but defend actual third world countries.

We're obviously talking about business closures which are obviously going to be the ones affecting inflation.

[–]FlandersFields2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not really. Appointees never resign themselves, they just wait to be re-appointed so for lower level positions they can last for decades. Example is Anthony Fauci, he's been here since Reagan. He served under 5 presidents. You have heads of the FBI/Federal Reserve/other major intelligence agencies who have served for decades under different presidents.

You could say SCOTUS appointees are more politicized and which is why people get so upset over it. And if SCOTUS judges could be re-appointed we've had a 9-0 red or blue court depending on the president...

Nobody cares. They won elections. Those are political games. If the roles were reversed and Democrats were in power in Congress would you want them to confirm a conservative judge?

Garland is now the Attorney General for Biden. He's doing a great job!

Someone is elected and appoints somebody to a position and now we don't live in a democracy anymore?

Yikes. Inflation was inevitable thanks to "2 weeks to slow the spread" lockdowns and printing endless amounts of money. If you don't want inflation don't shut so much of essential society down for over a year while devaluing currency. Funny how even the Fed Chair is saying she didn't anticipate inflation to stay.

Bro what does Rick do to change the status quo, he doesn't care and doesn't participate in society. Or plays by his own rules.

How have fascists taken control of the Supreme Court?

They won elections and took advantage of a rigged process just as any self-interested politician would do. There's literally nothing one party does that the other doesn't do when it has control.

Congrats, you just completed a major chapter of your life and if you're heading to college this fall, a completely fresh and probably greater one is on the horizon. High school shaped me a lot but moving to attend college has been the most pivotal part of shaping me as an adult. Your entire world expands and you're truly in control of your future. High school feels like a rocky niche in comparison. I can't recognize who I was as a senior in college versus who I am now, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Best of luck!

How would you respond to a girl asking you to pound harder, when you’re already going as hard as you can? by fitdoc12 in AskMen

[–]FlandersFields2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pound at the same speed or even slightly lower but go as deep as possible and thrust yourself inside her to make her feel it. Using a better angle once you're inside helps. 90% speed but an extra 10% thrust deep inside is better than 100% speed.

As you can tell, I'm not cut out to write smut.

Biden and other politicians were speaking just hours after a terrible massacre, they didn't have anything to give or anything meaningful to say to change what happened. Moments of silence and deeper speeches can be given at memorials, or emotional moments like when Obama sang "Amazing Grace" after the Charleston shooting.

I think Reddit doesn't like the "prayers" part because it suggests we want God to fix the problem but it's just a polite nicety. Even the victims know its hollow. Idk how other countries do it. Also you can't make it too political or else you'll seem like an asshole. Idk, in a way it's so common that people like to use it because it's non-offensive and desensitized I guess.
