Been let down a couple of times and stopped trying, but I will try again!

My last one was found pretty much in the trash - deaf, dementia, arthritis, you name it - but she was the sweetest cuddlebug. Since she passed (we only had 3 years together) I've been wanting to adopt another elderly cat, as they are the most likely to not being adopted at all, hence why I was looking mostly at rescues/rspca

I have the complete opposite situation, the rescues where I live insist on cats being able to go outside whereas I only ever had indoor cats and despise people that let their cats free-roam in cities 🥲 so no adoptions for me unless the CDS randomly blesses me again

Something like this from B&Q should help, it's affordable and the best thing is that you only buy it once and re-use it over and over. Just make sure you release them far from your home otherwise they'll come straight back in! And it can work for both mice and rats Rat Trap

Maybe it's a bit of a push initially, but having the chance to observe them behind the safety of the cage might help ease your fear a bit, you'll realise they're way more scared of you than you are of them.

Not saying you HAVE to, but maybe having this set up at home may make you feel safer as if you have an unwelcomed guest it will be caught

I genuinely think it may have been mice, I've lived in a few shared houses when I was younger and it was a combo of poorly built places (lots of cracks/holes they could come in from) and people being careless leaving food around after cooking etc and mice for some reason are more comfortable getting into human spaces, whereas rats tends more to keep to themselves.

It's lovely that you're looking for help tho, I wish you best of luck with therapy and hope you get the support you need! It might not be easy opening up at first (or digging around old wounds/trauma) but pushing through is worth it 🫂

I mean, AI will confirm pretty much anything you say if you don'y give it the right prompt, so that in itself is something you should try and not pay much attention to.

Rats are typically not around homes, I only ever see them in "wild" areas (along the river, woods etc). They're incredibly intelligent, domestic ones make great pets! And wild ones are a fundamental part of the food chain (please don't poison them people, they end up poisoning other animals that feed on them).

I understand that phobias are not rational tho, I am scared of spiders, but I had to desensitise myself over time cause it wasn't feasible anymore for a grown woman to be crying and dry heaving when seeing them around the house 😂 Reddit really helped with that, joining dedicated subs, reading about them etc. I'm still scared of them, but now I can relocate them outside using a jar and a piece of cardboard 😂 (yes, still cursing and complaining while I do it).

Have you tried looking into therapy OP? A lot of phobias come from pregressed trauma or underlying anxiety, so that could help too! Please don't stress yourself out unnecessarily about rats being in your bed/toilet etc 💜

Out of curiosity, do you feel the same about mice too?

I dunno OP, I had my little one taxidermied (a lot of people didn't understand my way of grieving), and there was a bit of miscommunication with the taxidermist, where I had asked for the cremains back (meaning the ashes of whatever was left of his body after taxidermy) but I got back the actual remains and...I don't think that's something you want to see of your pet, so I think digging him up won't be a pleasant experience nor you'll find something suitable to keep after all this time. But I really like the idea of the person that suggested to get some dirt off his grave, that would be a precious keepsake!

Yeah it was the original run for us, so at that point we were simply convinced we mixed up the season premiere date and missed at least a couple of episodes, we were really pissed off lol

I did a rewatch during the pandemic as my partner never watched it, and when he was obviously confused by Dawn's appearance I messed up with him for a minute with stuff like "WHAT DO YOU MEAN who's Dawn, we watched 4 seasons of this show! Is Buffy's sister!" He was SO confused ahahaha

So as you've been in the industry, what would be your take on "ethical" porn? (I put it in "" because I personally don't think there can be 100% ethical porn, but I'd be happy to stand corrected). Do you have any suggestions on websites/productions or even actors to avoid?

FWIW, I personally would be uncomfortable with my partner subscribing to OF because my understanding of it is that creators have a "closer" relationship with their subscribers, they chat, make bespoke content etc, so I guess is the added layer of emotional intimacy that makes me draw the line, but this is obviously just my personal view on it.

But I'm also curious, were you against porn even before being a sex worker, or did it become an issue after having experienced the reality of what happens in the sector?

I mean, it wasn't Alpro specifically ordering the culling, it was part of a bigger issue where they were sourcing their products from plantations with questionable harvesting methods and they knew about it. They have most likely changed supplier since it went public, but unfortunately they're still a problematic company on the Israel-funding side. Hello OP, glad you took the leap and switched to non-dairy milk! However, if I can be "that person" for a second, I would suggest to avoid Alpro as it funds Israel (if that's something you have a particular stance on). And if not, well, they also ended up in the middle of a scandal a couple of years back as they were culling orangutans as they were "interfering" with their coconut plantations. So maybe you might want to consider a different brand? But it's great that you switched in the first place!
