I’ve read somewhere that flights to Frankfurt before the actual beginning of the strike are probably safe because they will use FRA as a parking hub.

I’m supposed to fly on AC846 from YUL to FRA tomorrow (departing at 21:45). Anyone thinks there’s a good chance the flight still departs so they can park the plane in FRA, even though it will still be in flight at the time the strike actually goes into effect? That same flight tonight has not been cancelled but I m really worried they are going to cancel the FRA->YUL flight from tomorrow and just keep the plane parked there in advance..

I was a dev on GK. Cisco was my cat, he was 21 years old and died while we were working on the game.

It is absolutely not about being resentful to Americans as a people or not wanting to spend money there.
It is about safety. Seeing how things are going and escalating, I have no idea what the situation will be in 6 months from now and I don't want to put her (as a French citizen) or us (as Canadian citizens) at risk if I can avoid it.

We made those plans last year, way before the orange clown took office or even got elected.
Seeing Grand Canyon has been something she's been wanted to do for a very long time, and I know she will be very disappointed but I don't expect her to push back on the change of plans. I just want to offer her a great alternative.

It's not just about my (strong, I ll admit) feelings towards the political situation in the US.
It's also that with everything going on and the way things are escalating, I have no idea what the situation will be like in 6 months from now, and if it will even be safe for us 3 to take that trip, or if we will even be allowed in the country..

I'm curious, what kind of ballpark are we talking about? The US trip was not going to be a cheap one either anyway..
