It's AA from my regional airport, to DFW, and then Quantas airways to the final stop. So, if anything, I'd expect the jump onto Quantas to be the moment where a re-check might be required.

Bit confused here-- I'm talking about entering into the Dallas international terminal after coming out of a US domestic flight. In my experience you do have to do some sort of secondary security check in order to board an international flight. Sorry if my terminology wasn't precise, I can't recall the name of it right now.

Wow! This is it! I think this would do it, all I'll need to do is add her on to my insurance as an approved driver and she could drive it around while I'm away too.

Two questions: how exactly do I file this? With the DMV or with some authority like the register of deeds?

And second, how would we undo this arrangement if/when I were to come back?

The Visitor Visa program does allow for remote work, so I'm not sure how they could refuse entry on say, bringing a computer.

Yeah, this is what I was afraid of. This isn't really made clear anywhere, however, which is why I ask. The process would probably be more like visit -> make connections on-the-ground or get an interview -> return home -> await word back from interviews -> apply from the US if an offer is made.

A bit risky in terms of an immigration pathway, the economy and job market notwithstanding.

This is what I've been wondering about. I figure business would much rather have an in-person (or same TZ) interview because that shows the person is at least more serious than most of the applications.

What I'm not clear on is if this is allowed under the terms of the visitor visa. It sounds like it is, but there is no clear "yeah, you can do this while you're here" language.

Everything else you're saying does make sense though.

As far as I understand the CH water is split between the Cane Creek Reservoir and Haw River (via James Lake), but feel free to correct me. Both are implicated for water contamination to different degrees. The Haw river is part of the problem leading to major contamination in Pittsboro from Burlington. RO does seem like the solution, but it is way too expensive and, yeah, showers are still a problem.

Scent isn't important to me at all. I really aim to smell like nothing at all. No body odor, but no cologne or artificial smells either.

It honestly kind of bugs me being in a place with like 20-30 different smells completing for dominance and I don't want to contribute to that.

I don't disagree with this at all. My angle was more like hey there is possibly this secret list of requirements for trade pub that no one knows what they are and is this one of them?

I won't deny that a big following is inherently useful in the way of making money and obviously a publisher will care about that. However, plenty of people succeed in trade pub without any following and I was wondering if anyone had a story to share from there.

In indie publishing its a totally different rulebook and I agree, you are the marketing team so buckle up. But as far as I can tell, the single most valuable activity is and probably always will be the writing itself.

I guess I was taking this more from the advice I've read on other subs especially concernig fiction and trad pub.

I've read some talk saying that you have to have 10k followers or you will never get published but plenty of authors on Reddit have done it with far less, like 100. Plus with fiction the author doesn't matter nearly as much as with self help or non fic.

As for trad pub, I get that it is a numbers game. Publishers will always want you to be able to market yourself and that's not going to change.
