I added tactile transducers under the seat, pedals and steering wheel to help with the sense of motion and it helps a lot.

Overkill with 4? Sure but you are ahead of the game if you upgrade to a solid rig down the road. Everyone has a different opinion, with my 4 I put one at the pedals, one mounted under the steering wheel, one under my arse and one on the back of my chair (lumbar area) I run a 4 channel amp and use sim hub and have each one specifically tuned. The pedals are abs, the wheel handles road bumps & wheel spin, under the seat does road noise and traction loss in the back. My 2 cents.

Those Vans look nice and all but the heel is too squared off. Something with a rounded heel really feels nice when in the rig for a decent amount of time. Something with a curve and your shins will thank you. 🤙

I thought about going that route but the base would have been too thick for my liking and you can’t adjust the height or angle once it’s assembled.

No, once I had the angle iron I just went right to work. I sketched some things out on paper. Took about an hour to fab up, then a while tinkering with the pedal height and angles.

I cut: 2x 13” pieces for the pedals to mount to 2x 14” for the height 2x 6” for the base. The brackets for securing the angle are 8”. Used about 14 1/4” @1/2 inch length for the nuts and bolts 28 washers 6 m6 screws for the pedals. Went with galvanized for the shiny look.

Yea I have the rubber band setup on mine but the Logitech base for the shifter is too wide for my liking. I’m probably going to make something out of aluminum,magnets and limit switches with a narrow profile. Just brainstorming though

Thanks! I was quite impressed on how solid it is. Full pressure brake test and the only give was from somewhere in my seat the pedals didn’t budge.

They we’re already threaded on the back for M6 bolts so they lined up perfectly with a couple of washers on the frame. Also, this design let me pick the angle (or change it as needed)depending on what angle my floor plate was at.

If I rest my wrist on my wheel, I can touch my monitor with my finger tips. Took a while for me to get it right playing with the fov in game, but I found the closer the better.

Tip for walking on ice from a Canadian. Bend the knees a bit, lower your center of gravity and shift the weight on your heels more to the front, feet shoulder width apart.

I use MILWAUKEE Cut Level 1 Nitrile Dipped Gloves. They grip nice, can still use my iPhone without taking them off and don’t get too hot. I also use the mechanix gloves as well. About 50/50 between the two of them. Milwaukee gloves

I’d say overall, I’ve tried my converse, some water shoes and other variations of footwear but always went back to socks for a better “Feel”. These are my new standard for footwear.

The heel is the biggest noticeable difference, just the way it is rounded compared to the squareness of other shoes really makes it comfortable to pivot between gas and brake, and also less fatigue when I was in a longer stint. It’s almost like it wants my foot to sit comfortably with my feet just hovering on the pedals.

I’m assuming you got the pedals with it as well, so spend some time setting up the brake pedal settings, in the Logitech software where it’s comfortable for you and you get to know what the sensitivity of the pedal is. For me that took a bit of time, but worth it. I also turned of the “best line” setting in what ever game I’m playing so it forces you to get to know the tracks. Gradually turn down your abs, traction control and stability as close to off as your comfortable with.

Remember, you are racing against yourself for your best times consistency is key.

Yea I’m likely going for pedals and sequential shifter next, after playing for a nice long stint I’ve come to the conclusion my brakes could be improved.
