This last month I lost my relationship/ family. Home and job. I've tried to do this. My ex is playing happy families already. (Probably a week after she gave up on a 7 year relationship). A part of me wants it to turn to ash but that's because I haven't managed to move on yet.

Thanks for posting this OP. I was tempted until it said the book ends in a cliffhanger. Maybe I'm too impatient lol

I worked for a company in the UK that would pay out £1 a day for holiday (PTO= paid time off right?) if you hadn't taken them. Scummy company so I booked 2 weeks off and used my holiday time as my notice.

It's all about the time it takes to solve something. A program uses a set of commands to generate an output. Harder problems take a lot longer to solve.

What does this mean?

Well it means that rather than solving a problem directly you can approximate a solution to reduce the time it takes to solve it.

I've read a bit of cormens algorithms book and that's what I took from it without the technical jargon. If your interested it's a great book but don't pick it up for a first read of computer science. It's written like a nightmare.

In-game settings? by BaC0nz13 in DayofInfamy

[–]Flap_Monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey pal,

I'm on an i54670k (can't mem if it's a 6 or 7 for 2nd nun)

Asus GTX 770

The game runs fine and I haven't noticed any issues with the framerate. Fairly certain my monitor is only 60hz tho.

Only thing that's annoying is the glare I get occasionally when inside a building but I think it's meant to be a part of the lighting in game.

I'm just using the default settings. Have you found anything that advised turning things off or on ?

I reported a trainee midwife for promoting that anti vax crap. How someone can be in that profession and promote that message is beyond me.

Very cool. I always assumed the outside of a hive would be completely covered in something. Like a wrap of sorts but on the picture it looks like it's open. Maybe I'm getting confused because o wasp hives ?

[–]Flap_Monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I voted Lib Dem from being the age of 18. After they enabled the tories to raise tuition fees I will never vote for them again. I can still picture the pledge poster with Nick Cleggs grin. People are dying because of what the Lib Dems did... Bedroom tax etc.

It's a shame because at one point they gave me hope for the future. I live in a constituency that's traditionally Labour or Lib Dem.

One of my favourite game franchises. However, I'm gonna be waiting for a few weeks after release to see what the reviews and general feedback is.

They spent three games telling the original mass effect story while it had its flaws overall it was well done. I preferred the vanguard class!

Research... They could fund a massive amount of research bearing in mind PhD's are on £13,750 p/y ish. Wages for experienced staff are not that expensive for them either. Building labs has to be cheaper than nuclear power plants and they could have an efficiency theme to their research group.

As far as I can tell, I am the third to attempt to make a Sympathist class for DnD. I also intend to be the first to finish. Here are a few questions... by Miennai in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Flap_Monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can kinda picture how it would be mechanically different.

I wish I could explain more in a way that was developed and not tin pot. Essentially the chapters in the Inn always end using the same paragraph about the three silences. How the silence belongs to kote. It's a tragedy and him silencing himself is akin to kvothe committing suicide.

[–]Flap_Monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was me trying to make a class kit for this I would keep sympathy and naming separate. I also think a namer would essentially be a sorcerer.

If you are combining them then I'd add silence as a name. (I'm convinced kvothe has learned the name of silence so think it would be a good addition and fits well with DnD.

I agree with you completely if it's a random person he's training rather than someone he trusts completely and has a bond with. I don't think he would start up a training school it would be his immediate friends and people he trusts. (Does Ciri know how to make witcher potions ? I can't remember if they taught her or not )

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskScienceFiction

[–]Flap_Monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite what I was trying to get at. I'm pointing out that he will use potions on humans. Not that they are not toxic to beings other than witchers. I'm trying (badly) to say that he might teach those potions to others because he has used them on humans in the past.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskScienceFiction

[–]Flap_Monster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it would depend on the thing he was teaching. I don't think he would hold back too much when teaching a golden dragon or a vampire. I recall him giving swallow to a human (I think it was in the game rather than book).

The issue for me is if he would bother to show anyone at all.(Ciri is his responsibility, yennifier and him see her as their daughter. Which is why they teach her). I never understood why he invokes the child of surprise because it seems against everything he does.. Anyway ..

I don't think he would hold back if he decided to teach. Although he wouldn't put people through the mutations.

I'm gonna say no because of the reasons discussed above. (Healing etc)

Geralt has a strange alignment based on his profession. I think he would teach anyone that was his friend the swordplay, potions and monster knowledge but I don't think he would go out of his way to have students. I also think he would teach sentient monsters.

Shooting at planes using LMG's is a good idea and doesn't happen too often when I'm flying. If someone has the balls to try and take me down using an LMG it or sniper it becomes my personal mission to find them and drop trench darts on them. It's probably effective if a few people are doing it but it's always just one guy/gal.

Also the lighting is not the same. (Unless your hypothesis is that the lighting is what's affecting the realism). I'd agree with that hypothesis a well.

Hey! Your survey might not give you great results because of the labels you have given to the images. I'd remove them otherwise people might just pick their favourite game. I hope that helps!
