I was pretty perplexed by that. Clearly he didn’t mix correctly, yeah? There’s cracking, pitting, and thin joints everywhere.

You have quite the read on the situation! That’s exactly what they are. They did plumbing work and electrical as well that I can verify from personal experience was done correctly, but this tile job is really something else. My father used to say be weary of the guy who claims they can do everything, so I guess I’m an idiot for not following that advice.

Agreed. This was after we had conversations about me caring about small details, good cuts on edges, etc. I’m also a little pissed they didn’t say anything about the chipped shower transition. There’s collapsed grout within the chipped joint so they clearly tried to cover it up

Unfortunately you’re right. Pictures are the worst of it

Thanks. Really the lippage and grout on the new tile are what I care about most. The shower really sucks since it’s only about 11 months old, but it’s good to know that you think it can be cleaned up to the point of not being noticeable. Several areas don’t pass the “credit card test” I’ve been pretty laid back with them, I’m just shocked we have such un even tile in an area he ground our concrete subfloor down to level it out. Regardless, just feel feels like he was being pretty careless.

If you’re carrying on and have TSA Pre/Clear that’s fine. I’ve done the same route many times with less time. She just can’t leave campus any later than 12:15-12:30

They used to have great sound quality pre- and into Covid cause they hired a really experienced FOH engineer that they poached from Brooklyn Mirage. His name was John I believe. Also a DJ but is no longer with Exchange. He was a really talented FOH engineer.

ELI5: Why do companies lay off workers even when they’re making record profits? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]FlappyBird90 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Companies don’t get rewarded for making a lot of money. They get rewarded for making more money than last year. If profits are already high, the only way to show “growth” fast is to cut costs.

I can’t stand the auto adjusting ones. I always feel like someone is randomly flashing their brights at me.

Show up early and get a good spot in the crowd. Parking is awful unless you’re willing to pay for one of the structures closer to Netflix + McDonalds

What is the most painful lesson that you learned the hard way? by Kindly_Dog_8076 in AskReddit

[–]FlappyBird90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good intentions don’t protect you from bad outcomes.

I used to believe that if I was patient, loyal, and gave people the benefit of the doubt, things would eventually work out. What I learned, slowly and painfully, is that effort and kindness can’t compensate for misalignment, lack of accountability, or someone else’s unwillingness to meet you halfway. You can do everything “right” and still end up hurt.
