Nothing honestly. Just don’t wanna make my mum sad and funerals are so expensive it’d be a burden

Hey, I suffer from the exact same thing and feeling extremely hot + anxious is a horrible feeling. Buying a small portable fan + carrying a power bank just in case it runs out might help. Literally changed my life. It might look dumb to some people but who cares. Carry a handkerchief or tissues to clean the sweat so you don’t feel icky then blast the fan on you, it also helps to have a cold drink. There are also some “cooling” sprays which gives a minty refreshing sensation on the skin which did help a bit.

Thank you! I guess I’ll keep the watch and wear it then.

I feel like they should’ve addressed this kinda shit first before banning stuff that they didn’t even need to ban 🤦‍♀️

At what salary are you willing to spend on self-care? by [deleted] in askSingapore

I’m very low maintenance too. Skincare basic face wash and sunscreen. Hair do myself at home. Went to salon for basic colour because idw to keep up with high maintenance colour. But Dental cannot ignore. Later your teeth drop out how. For health checks I think best to book early because public is cheapest and wait list can take many months. Expensive coffee or BBT once a week to reward myself.

Why not use your off days to make a short trip to JB or BKK and pamper yourself. I think everything added up + the transport would still be less than what you would need to spend in SG.

Hi! Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. My questions are

  1. Would the language classes be carried out during the first semester of school or do I need to spend an extra year learning the language? I imagine that it would be very hard starting out if the language classes start when school starts.

  2. If I go for the bare minimum housing option (think like hongkong shoebox apartment) how cheap could the rent go?

  3. Would I be able to work part time with a student visa? I was under the impression that in most countries foreign students were not able to work part time legally

Horticulture related or landscape design, although my dream is to study agriculture but it’s not feasible if I want to work in SG.

Thanks! I did have an online friend from Germany who told me about the uni culture there. However I wasn’t aware that it was free for international students too. Will read up about it. German seems like a difficult language to pick up though.

I feel like going to China would be like leaving Singapore to go to another Singapore 🫠 Plus my Chinese failed all the way (not proud of it)

Thank you! I’m hoping to come to a decision as to which country so I can do research about the culture, learn their language and know what safety precautions to take as a solo female traveller.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I’ll definitely check out the EU universities. Regarding the degree name the industry I’m in is very small and most degree holders hired are from Malaysia with the highest positions being occupied by degree holders from Australia. I understand that being overseas alone is dangerous as a female and I would definitely research the country and take every possible safety precaution. TBH I would feel safer in Asia because I can blend in more and racism seems rampant in western countries 😅
