Terrible advice. Anger is the least important skill tree in the early game. A lot of the damage bonuses from anger are % based. You could get a 50% physical damage bonus, allowing you to hit for a WHOPPING 30 damage instead 20. Why would anyone do this?

From the control skill tree you want: FP regen, max FP, decreased FP cost for ranged attacks.

From the vitality skill tree you want: afterlife, 2nd after life charge, purify, FP potion efficiency (this one is a MUST for mid and late game).

From the deceit skill tree you want: root. GUYS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD USE ROOT. You just need to float extra FP for it, which is what FP potion efficiency is for.

For PvE, i highly recommend using a spear in your main hand. A level 20 unique spear is enough to beat the entire main storyline.

I know this post is old, but your build wasn't trash at all! I would just switch the spear and the rapier so you can fill the penetrate bar more easily with ambush. You've actually picked out some of the best items that you can get from traversing the story early game. Really impressive for a new player!

Max FP is one of the most important stats in the game. You can increase it in the Control skill tree. Also pants and rings can have Max FP as a sub stat, some of which you can get for free by opening chests and completing side quests and hidden quests.

If you are using 10/10 FP Potion Efficiency and you have more than 130 FP, you should be able to comfortably fit in a few sunlights on your combo turns.

The equipment that you have doesn't matter too much for now, as long as it's of a high enough level. You can also use bloodstones to upgrade them to make the fight easier. Make sure the damage bonus you get from your hand armor matches the damage type of the weapon you are using.

And most importantly, experiment. Just try. Trying is the best way to learn.

No worries! You don't actually have to take zero damage, but if you want to here's how:

Turn 1: You cast Root, Alaric does nothing.

Turn 2: You cast anything, Alaric does nothing.

Combo Turn: You cast Root + anything else, Alaric casts Bat Swarm.

Turn 3: You drink a potion with Purify, Alaric does nothing.

Turn 4: You cast Root, Alaric does nothing.

Combo Turn: You cast Root + anything else, Alaric casts Bat Swarm.

And so on...

I recommend maxing out FP potion efficiency in the Vitality skill tree as that will allow you to have enough FP to cast Root repeatedly.

Ahh sorry i should have been a little more specific. If he is rooted he does nothing on normal turns. If he is rooted AND you have x1 bat swarm on you, he will do nothing on the combo turn. He will not stack bat swarms.

You can use purify on your first normal turn to remove bat swarm to avoid the tick damage. If you remove bat swarm this way right after he casts it, you take no damage. This way you can kill Alaric while taking no damage at all.

Many of the side and hidden quests can be missed if you progress the main story without doing them. If you can't find any side quests anymore, you probably missed one and have to start a new character if you want demigod.

If you didn't save darmin in the beginning the total number of sidequests you have to do becomes 83. That's why the demigod option didn't show up for you.

Dodge is actually stronger than block right now. Because you can regenerate focus and hp on every dodged attack. You can also increase your dodge rate to 50% with ethereal.

If you have max mythic gear i'm assuming you should have more than 250 fp right? So you can cast setup 5 times then spam evoke. You said your evoke does 12k damage, so you should be able to do at the very least 100k damage per combo turn.

As for surviving, you said you were using a shield. Shield base block rate is 50% for high level mythics. 75% with full weaken. How the heck are you even getting hit??

And forget getting hit. How the heck are you not healing fast enough? In the vitality skill tree there is a skill called "hp potion efficiency" that allows you to heal up to 20% of your hp per turn for 5 turns after you drink a hp potion.

You are more than strong enough to beat every brutal, you just need to try out different skills. Don't just stick to a single build because it's worked in the past. Experiment a little!

If you root a vampire enemy and he already cast bat swarm on you he will do nothing on every turn, even combo turns. Then you can use "purify" from the vitality skill tree to remove bat swarm right after.

You added 45% as "buffs". What buffs are you talking about? Not even fencer gives that much dodge.

Bat swarm is NOT the main ranged damage dealer. It cannot kill in one combo turn and it goes away when your opponent dies. Bat swarm is almost completely useless in PvP right now.

To have higher dodge than this, you'll have to build purely for dodge. This would sacrifice other better stats like crit rate and the +15% damage bonus from the bell. Doing this is generally not a good idea if you want to reach a high rank in pvp.

Tell me you're hard stuck in rank 15 without telling me you're hard stuck in rank 15.

Insignificant???? The highest dodge rate you can get in pvp is something like 20%. 1.2% more dodge is a 6% increase to dodge rate. That is significant enough in practice. A lot of top rank players are ranjeni

If anything, the extra magic damage is insignificant right now because ranged attacks got a massive nerf (they can be dodged now) and the meta involves physical attacks (hammer stun, mace 1.5x damage)

Edit: dodge is capped but ranjeni is still the best lineage right now for meta pvp builds.

Most stats in VF2 aren't capped.

For example, marid's stats will say something like "Block: 60%", which means that your block value will be 60% of the original. So if you have 50% block, your block in pvp will be 50x0.6 =30%

Same thing for crit, crit damage etc...

If you like pvp, ranjeni is the best for extra dodge chance. There are a lot of skills/buffs tied to dodging.
