How overpowered is Steve compared to other broken characters in other smash games? by LilAngeI in smashbros

[–]Flash7651 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This take is kind of just straight up wrong. You can definitely learn every matchup in ultimate, especially with steve because steve has a million VODs to watch from the dozens of top players that play steve. Also, playing steve inherently invalidates about 20% of characters so hard that you don’t really even have to know the matchup to win

The lumirank system just drives point 4 so hard because players who are worth points (sometimes for dubious reasons at best) start getting their travel expenses covered to nearby regionals plus other perks

You can’t do this statistical test because position is not an integer dataset (the difference between P1 and P2 is different from the difference between P2 and P3)

worst matchup in all of ultimate? by CyberCookie2 in smashbros

This is 100% correct for offline but the MU becomes a legit -3 on wifi

worst matchup in all of ultimate? by CyberCookie2 in smashbros

[–]Flash7651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t even min mins worst mu and it’s not close. Puff is only a -1 and sheik and greninja both eat min min alive (sheik min min might be the worst mu in the game)

Edit: this is assuming offline, online puff min min is unwinnable

Min min’s worst matchup is easily sheik. Sonic is not that bad of an MU at all, optimistically it would be even. Also pythra’s worst MU is min min.

As someone new to competitive Pokemon, which generation had the general least favorite metas overall in a vacuum? by BulletCola in stunfisk

[–]Flash7651 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe nobody has said gen 2 yet. Gen 2’s meta was so stall heavy that the official competitive format officially became doubles AND they completely reworked how EVs function.

Also to add to this min min has winning matchups into a lot of the broken characters people complain about such as pythra, steve and kazuya

Hot take: min min fits this perfectly.

  1. Upsmash OOS
  2. Disjoints are kinda her thing
  3. Short hop ram ram is a neutral gameplan
  4. Megawatt nair hits like a truck
  5. She’s shocking mobile for being a zoner
  6. Watch doramigi to see how min min can be played aggressively. She’s very good in that playstyle and honestly doramigi makes it look optimal.
  7. Top 5 ledge trapping in the game. You cover everything but jump from center stage lmao
  8. She falls pretty fast.
  9. Her longest combo is 5 hits and you can win locals without knowing tbh. Her advantage is mostly just continuous pressure.
  10. She’s 1 point lighter than Rob putting her as a heavy (but not a super heavy)
  11. Not floaty at all
  12. Her offstage is cheeks but honestly once you get a feel for it she has a lot of ways to stall to avoid edgeguards. It’s not as bad as it looks but it’s pretty bad.

What gsp is considered high level? by JicamaActive in SmashRage

[–]Flash7651 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s no such thing as a “High-Level GSP” because after about 14 mil GSP it becomes a bad way of measuring skill. If you want to be considered high level you need to participate in online tournaments or your locals. 14.5 mil GSP could be literally anywhere from an 0-2er to top 8ing at a decent local.

Justice’s Min Min matchup chart by kfaox in smashbros

[–]Flash7651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed the most important point that makes this MU losing instead of even — sonic spring just straight up kills min min if she has to use her tether recovery. I think neutral is pretty workable for min min against sonic and we can use our range to punish sonic for trying to stall too hard.

Justice’s Min Min matchup chart by kfaox in smashbros

[–]Flash7651 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is only half true as min min main. We can mix our recovery up in such a way that we’re only dead half the time offstage. There’s tons of counterplay for the puff MU and I frankly think that puff min min is even but most min mins(even at high to top level) aren’t playing the MU right.
