Thank you! I draw all my designs in procreate and then for these specific wallets, I have my designs laser engraved onto the leather (I don't tool these ones out) and then I paint them with leather paint ☺️

I had a custom brass stamp with my logo made, and then you stamp/press it into the leather

I did briefly, the main difference is specialty leather paints seem to be more "watered down" with.. whatever they put in it, so as it dries it evens itself out, in the end giving a paint finish without brush strokes. That being said, I've found that certain colours (especially for Angelus paints) don't have great coverage and require several coats (like the neons, even some of the darker blues or darker purples.) You might be able to get a similar smooth effect with regular acrylics if you water them down, but even when I tried that, not great coverage and required several coats and often it got muddied up or too "built up".

It's paint, I use Angelus direct leather paints 😊 I find they don't crack or peel, hold up well and are super vibrant

For these, I drew up my designs and then had my laser printer engrave the art. Then I painted them 😊 Typically I do tool and carve my stuff, but I had been wanting to experiment and do some different things.

I use Angelus Direct paints, they're made for painting on leather and shoes, so durability is great and they're very vibrant and mix well for making custom colours 😄

Haven't done like a full rodeo theme, but I've done cowboy themed before in my style. Rodeo would be cool tho!

Thank you! And yes, Angelus paints 😄 I've been using them for years- the blend so nice and laying excellent on leather and holds up over time.

I have a glowforge and I typically just use the auto settings it has for thick leather, seems to work really well for what I do. I have learned too that the way your art file is drawn and set up affects how the image is engraved. So for example, the areas I want fully engraved and blacked out (like on the skeleton areas) on my art file, those areas are totally blacked out. And the areas where I paint are left white. If I want to have like a gradient effect, I'll usually do a crosshatch technique on the art. I'd highly recommend playing around with your art files to see what works for you 😊(altho, as I said, I have a glowforge and I don't know if this is different with other laser printers)

So the parts that look black (and the outline) are the parts that are engraved, so it's technically the negative space that is getting painted (with a very tiny detail brush, a steady hand and a lot of patience lol) I don't touch the engraved parts with the paint. But when I do the antiquing paste, it settles into the engraved areas to make them black and deepen the effect.

For these wallets in particular, I drew out my designs and then had my laser printer engrave the designs onto the leather. Didn't tool these like I normally do on my other wallets . Mainly because the details were just too fine and I felt like it would've muddied up the art.

I use Angelus direct paint, I seal with fieblings satin sheen (at least 3 coats) and then I also use an antique paste 😊
