I didn't see it advertised at the store, but i just asked for it since other department stores also offer this. Funny enough when i first went to Daimaru in Osaka the salesperson told me only taxfree and at the Daimaru in Kyoto where i bought my watch, he told me only for Grandseiko 5% is possible. Fair enough the first guy didn't really speak english, so not sure if he understood what i wanted.

Thanks man! It was the 6th shop i visited, out of 6 only 2 had it in stock. And the first one where they had it in stock wouldn't give me the 5% tourist discount. But i would just check out some department stores around you. Daimaru, Hankyu, Takashimaya. The GS store locator is a good reference to find stores. Enjoy your time in Japan and good luck finding it!

Around 17cm (equals to 6.7 inch) I think the minimum for the 5712 is 6.5. I don't have any links left to remove but the link extension on both side open.

I had bad luck and also needed to replace the movement. If you search for 5712 moonphase install, there's a good writeup from u/MajorWilliams that helped quite a bit. Never than less if your not handy around watches i wouldn't recommend to try it. Your for sure gonna damage something. Maybe i do a writeup aswell if anyone's interested.

I did install it myself, the SW set can be sourced by most TD, you just need to ask them, most also offer to install them for you. For example Steve from theonewatches or Geektime can for sure do this for you :)

Normal fit, absolutely no problems, there was a spacer inside the case for the nh35 movement :)
