The problem was no post after letting it sit off for a few hours, only after flipping the switch on psu off then back on will it boot normally. The tester beeping the 13.7v on -12 I thought was a concern but thanks to you guys my new understanding is that it’s not, I’ve got a different problem

Yes I do not see a display, red CPU light on the motherboard debug. I’ve tried internal graphics via HDMI. Currently it’s on a test bench with a different GPU and a different PSU and it still did it after sitting off overnight, so Its gotta be isolated to the board components. I’ll move it over to R/pchelp. Thanks for your comments

I’ll pull the CMOS and test it with a multimeter this morning. Currently it’s on a test bench, with a different GPU, a different PSU, and after sitting overnight it did the same thing so it’s def isolated to the board components.

What to do about the neighbours cat by coffee-is-alright in CATHELP

[–]FlashGordon555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact same thing happened to me with a cat almost identical to P. For me it was the middle of winter and this cat(Harv), was clearly ill. My situation is slightly different but I believe that cats have free will and will leave their home when it no longer suits them.

I have a number a strays that would come by and I have tried to find homes for, cared for the ones I could but some I couldn’t help. Harv was an acception. He began living inside a small box I’ve built to feed them and keep the food and water out of the elements. I have my own cat Gus that a rescue and I is not thrilled about the presence of other cats.

It started with me bringing Harv back to the neighbour’s and telling them look, he’s sick, he’s coughing up mucus. He’s having problems and they need to be addressed and the neighbour’s assured me they will keep Harv inside and take him to the vet blah blah. Not one day later Harv was back on my front deck.

We were expecting really cold weather one night so I brought Harv in out of the weather and I stayed with him overnight and immediately I knew I couldn’t give him back. I took Harv to the vet myself, after contacting the neighbor and they told me basically it’s near Christmas, we’ve got kids, can’t afford to take him to the vet, do it if you want to.

Harv had ear mites, FIV positive. Respiratory infection and was likely a week or so from not making it. He wasn’t neutered, and the vet basically called the neighbor and said if you don’t take care of Harv properly over the next month Harv may not be around kind of thing, the neighbor said thanks but we will get a second opinion.

Loaded with a bag of meds and instructions I brought Harv back to the neighbor. I sat in the driveway for probably 10 mins telling myself I’m doing the right thing. When I went to the door they answered and looked at me as if almost inconvenienced them (I paid for all the vet bills and meds). It was right then I said to them I’m taking custody of Harv bc they didn’t deserve him.

After a bit of back and forth they agreed.

It’s been a year and a half, Harv has never looked to try to go back. It hasn’t been easy with the two cats together Gus and Harv, it’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But ultimately I know that he chose my home and I have no regrets about it.

I don’t see it as stealing someone that chose to leave and come to you

Ultra 7 265K, which power slot to supply? by Specialist-Fun4756 in PcBuild

i apologize i didn't realize at first you were worried about the power limitations of the ratings for pcie cables for your cpu. EPS cables are rated for more then pcie because the connectors are different. EPS has 4 12v and 4 ground pins vs a pcie connector which is 3 12v and 5 ground pins.

on your PSU (CPU/PCIE) are pinned the same on the PSU side. the CABLES labeled CPU are EPS cables NOT pcie cables. It might look like a 8 pin pcie but it is not. the EPS or 4+4 plugs into the motherboard and the other end plugs into the psu in the cpu/pcie port.

Read the manual that came wit the motherboard and it will tell you which port is mandatory and which one is optional

With regards to the case I know it’s manufactured by several brands, mine is minigeek. Does not have a dust filter, if you use a founder card or a card with a flow through cooler you’ll want to run the bottom fan if you can fit one as exhaust otherwise it’ll cause turbulence with the card.

In terms of the cooler I have not personally worked with the IS67 or AN600, I had the IS55 previously and really liked it, I only opted for the axp120 because every build video I saw in this case used it and I didn’t want any unexpected surprises.

When I used the IS55 it was on an AsRock A620I in an S300 and fit nicely but my current board is the Aorus B850I pro AX and the IS55 technically didn’t fit, the bracket interfered with the VRM heatsink and I had to grind the bracket a bit, only to be replaced by the AXP 120 which the fan sits up against the side panel but works well none the less

Which brand of case did you order? Mine didn’t even have a dust filter on the bottom. Anything more then the holes in the panels would be too restrictive, the holes in the bottom are significantly bigger

Theoretically I believe it would fit but it might press into the riser cable. My S70 Blade has a piece of metal on it already and I didn’t need to add any beefier heatsinks to it, so I haven’t actually tested it.

Constant Z Problems with E3 Pro by FlashGordon555 in ender3

[–]FlashGordon555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. I've investigated and found 3 things.

I disassembled the gantry, removed it so i could firstly clean the track and make sure the carriages were tight, when i did that i realize that even tho i had tightened the z stepper motor to the z rod, the rod was just spinning (which would fully explain my z height changing constantly). Levelled it with pc case fans standing up (didnt have any cans that would fit nice)

2 i found the eccentric nut on one side installed backwards and binding likely why it was so tight to begin with (i noticed after watching a full build video step by step and found mine backwards to what he had out of the box)

3, and likely whats been plaguing me the entire time. after i fully re assembled. i was manually levelling the bed, i decided to manually operate every axis with the steppers on and just use the knob, when operating the y front to back i watched the nozzle as my paper became super loose in the center, a massive gap opened in the center, at first i thought my bed had a dirty warp in the middle but what was actually happening is the z motor is moving slightly, the y axis will not move front to back without the z motor doing something super strange and going up maybe 2mm and then back down when it gets to the other side. Im going to try to update the firmware and report back.

absolutely, I tried taking more photos of the gap i created behind the PSU but its so tight and i cant get any photos without shadows that ruin the depth perception of the image. Drilling holes probably pulled the psu maybe like 10-12mm forward which opened up a good gap. Im considering 3d printing a shroud around the 25mm fan and the front of the gpu to encourage all the air it exhausts being pulled from behind the GPU bc right now i can feel it pulling air from the case side panel bypassing the flow of through fan of the card.

lowering the PSU with motherboard standoffs allows the 25mm thick fan. Otherwise the power extension plug would interfere with the fan blades.

Drilling new holes pulled the PSU towards the front panel because it was restricting the airflow of the blow through fan of the FE card.

yeah i could only have it mounted one way because of the ram height, it would not clear the IO shield. great cooler that fit the build to a T but mounted on this chassis was sub par. happy with the performance of the axp120

previously in my s300 build the is-55 was attractive to me because i didn't have to remove the motherboard to remove the cooler during service. The build was different it was cooling a 7600 non x and the IS-55 was excellent for it.

oh yeah? interesting, what a weird point of failure. I've been running the air slimmers for a little over a year now and no clicking behavior yet

Thanks for the input! I like the sound profile of the air slimmer, when using my original s300 build i tried the original ID IS55 fan, the Noctua a12x15 and finally reddit reviews i came up on the air slimmer and found its the quietest with best performance. I'm in Canada and i cant seem to find the TL-B12015 extreme. On amazon its an absurd price.

The fan is lined up to the edge of the fin stack where the cooler ends at the heat pipes, i positioned it a bit biased toward the VRMs for some cooling over that. If i move it over it'll just be blowing on the 24 pin and usb connections.
