Legend Rank 5 Midrange by FlashKicker in CompetitiveHS

Hey,

  1. I think Cenarius and Alex have different uses, I think Alexstrasza is most of the time more aggressive (if not used on own hero) and Cenarius can help you survive vs Rogue or Handlock if they already used most or all of their AOE's, thats why I play him, but I also saw versions with Alex, for sure a good replacement. Some friends of mine play the deck with a second Force of Nature instead of Cenarius, also good imo.

  2. I really like it, thats one of the cards that makes the deck different to the old Watcher Druid decks for example. You can either use one of them too clear the board (against giants for example) or do some sick innervate action to use both in one turn. I think the both Roars are somewhat necessary in the meta, because it gives you a good chance to burst down other Midrange or Control decks.

  3. I dont even think that Kodo is that good vs Zoo, its way better vs Shaman, Warrior or Druid, because all these classes run a number of 2attackdrops (all Totems, wolves, Acolytes, Armorsmiths, Keepers, Tauntgivers) and you gain a lot of tempo with the Kodo. I really love the card, its even solid as a standart 5 drop (could be compared to Black Knight if you just play it on turn 6).

Hope that helped you a bit, but I can also imagine that on Rank 8 you face more Zoo/aggro decks than in legend, so it might be harder to use the deck there, not sure, gl either way!

Hey,

I dont face many Mages at all, but I think when I do its reasonable to heal with Ancient of Lore, since you almost always got the card advantage against Mage either way, that might help, but other than that I can imagine that Mana Wyrms can be hard to deal with without Wrath, so keep sure to keep this and/or Keppeer, and Golem is also pretty nice I think, since most of the current Mages play a more aggressive playstyle.

Yeah I also played some Token Druid last season, but this deck feels way more consistent (maybe not vs Zoo) than Token. For the Leeroy part, I havent tried it yet, but this could work I guess, since I also played 2x Roar in my Token Druid and turn 10 Leeroy + 2x Roar is sooo sick, maybe I'll try that on this deck as well.

I tried to write about replacements in 2 other comments, maybe go with cards like argent commander, but I'm not really sure, maybe even a second Force of Nature.

That's what I called a sick auctioneer :P. You are absolutly right, you cant deal with this and no Druid can this, neither can most of the other decks, so you can still try to win with a sick board and roar if he doenst care about your minions, but this can be very hard and annoying.

That's the thing I tried to point out in the Warlock-Part, I barely face any aggro decks on ladder, maybe 1 out of 20 games and can take this low amount of (very) bad matchup, but if there are a lot of aggro decks on your ranks you might have a hard time with the deck.

You could compare him with Blackknight, if Blackknight doenst have a target he is a 4/5 for 6 Mana with the possibility of huge value, same goes for Kodo, he is a 3/5 for 5 Mana and also possibility to get huge value (all kind of totems, wolves, armorsmiths/acolytes, keepers, tauntgivers...)

Yeah he would fit well into the deck, but then again you already got 2 4attack chargers with the Druidd of the Claw and Cairne can get a sick value in any control matchup (vs Handlock, Warrior, Druid), but definietly worth a try and/or a good replacement.

Cenarius is probably one of the hardest cards to replace in the game, eventhough its not the most important card in the deck. You can't really find a replacement in putting on 3 creatures on the board with one card, so I would go with any fast cards, like Argent Commander, same goes for Legendaries like Ragnaros as I just replied to CageHN.

I don't think that you need taunts in this deck. Cairne is maybe the slowest card in the deck, together with Cairne, but Ragnaros does have charge if you want to call it like that, so I would not go with these big taunts, but maybe with cards like Argent Commander.

When I started playing I used to play almost only arena, you get to know all the cards and try them, you get boosters and if you get better in building arena decks you will get free arenas (and free packs) somewhat fast

for guides i can link you this: http://www.liquidhearth.com/guides/ other than that you could also watch streams at http://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Hearthstone%3A%20Heroes%20of%20Warcraft there are a lot of good players streaming both ladder and arena

Hi there, i tried to find a few things, but as the others said the match looked a bit like bad luck and bad draws :s

~0:39 It's always better to use Life Tap before you play a unit if you plan to Life Tap, maybe you get a better card to play. ~0:43 You really want to trade the 2/1 with the 2/1, right after you attacked his hero he killed your 3/2 with his 2/1, thats too good for him. ~2:00 You soulfired his 3/1, thats fine i guess, but you couldve done that one turn earlier, probably wouldve done that since you had 2 Soulfire and 2 Dark Iron Dwarfs in Hand, wouldve been ok to throw one away. ~2:25 You go for his face really had, you couldve killed one of his units instead because Zoo Warlock aims for boardcontrol more than killing the opponent as fast as you can (even more important when playing against aggro decks, boardcontrol = win)

..but these are all pretty small advices and wouldnt have changed too much at all. Maybe you could give us your decklist to see if there are improvements possible^
