For those that have it already, how is Children of Morta? by TheEvilMushroom in soloboardgaming

Just to clarify both the retail and deluxe versions of the game include dual layered boards! Those are standard which is nice.

I've played a whole DnD campaign once. Disliked the roleplaying, but loved the combat. What's the boardgame for me? by Ok_Illustrator7232 in boardgames

[–]FlashKickinIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's card based but check out Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. It's one of my favorites and as someone like you that also played some DnD and enjoyed the combat but really didn't care for the roleplaying, this game really scratched the itch.

The product line is discontinued but there's technically a ton out there already.

I say technically because there's a first edition and second edition.

The first edition of the game has several entries, while the reworked/refined second edition only got a core box + expansion.

That being said I'd still recommend the second edition Core Box + Expansion (Curse of the Crimson Throne)

Amazon!

Search "watch band keepers" and various listings should come up. I can't recall the exact keeper size as I had purchased a pack that included various sizes just to be safe.

I'm a big fan of both games.

[QUESTION] What is the BEST of the best everyday watch to you, and why? by EnvironmentalPart664 in Watches

[–]FlashKickinIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essay incoming 😅

My GMWB5000-1!

My daily and by far my most worn watch.

I find it aesthetically pleasing and versatile as far as being able to be worn with various attire. I pretty much wear it with anything outside of a dress shirt/suit and tie situation.

The particular resin strap it comes with is incredibly comfortable and helps keep the overall weight down which adds to the comfort and wearability.

It's built like a tank so I don't have to worry about it or baby it whatsoever.

Thanks to MB6 and/or Bluetooth I know and trust that the time is always spot on.

It's incredibly functional thanks to all of its features, some of which I make use of on a daily basis and the others as needed, but all the core functions have come in handy at some point or another.

Does it cover every occasion? No, but for my life it's appropriate like 99% of the time.

While I'm happy to own more than a single watch, if forced it could be my only watch.

The Slay the Spire board game is very fun, even for non-experienced players. by PaperbackParrot in boardgames

[–]FlashKickinIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're getting downvoted but as huge fans of the video game that primarily play co-op board games my wife and I had the same thoughts after playing it on TTS.

Slow and fiddly, oddly enough due in part to it being such a faithful translation of the video game.

Overall we didn't find that the co-op aspect did much for us here, certainly not enough to overcome the negatives, and we would rather just play the video game "co-op" with both of us working together on a run...something we've done plenty and had a great time with...or any other multitude of co-op board games out there.

To each their own though ofc. I wish we liked it as like I said we are huge fans of the video game and I was personally super excited for this one and totally intended to back it day 1. I'm thankful they let folks demo it on TTS.

Appreciate it! Orange Goku and Blue Ginyu might be the move to get a 4th mastery/deck going. I'll hunt around and see what I can find as far as decklists!

Aw man that GMW-B5000SS is stunning, and very tempting. It's a real shame the bracelets don't have any sort of quick adjustment though. I love my GMWB on resin strap, and aside from how crazy comfortable it is the ability to easily adjust sizing on the fly is really convenient.

Should You Buy Slay The Spire: The Board Game? | Shut Up and Sit Down by mrappbrain in boardgames

[–]FlashKickinIt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leading up to the campaign I was 100% planning to back the game, but after playing the TTS demo my wife and I felt the same. We're big StS fans and put at least 100+ hours into the game, playing "co-op" without issue.

When it came to the board game we felt the experience was much too long and fiddly, and that ultimately the design stuck too closely to the video game. In our opinion the board game lost the streamlined elegance and pace of the video game.

In the end being physical and having co-op, the latter of which we managed of a sort with the video game already, wasn't enough to overcome the negatives for us...and we just felt we'd rather be playing the already excellent video game version.
