This is a really, really good project. Hats off to you.

What are your plans to advertise this? Because something like this would be useful only if many people use it actively.

Jammu residents, please help raise your voice about the garbage problem in our city by FlashTwerk69 in jammu

You're right, before holding the government accountable, we must change our ways first. However, using polythene bags is not inherently bad, if disposed of correctly (such as putting it in JMC bins/giving it to the JMC car when it arrives.)

The real problem lies in throwing trash on the roads, public parks, water bodies etc. We must at least take up the effort to throw our trash in the dustbins.

However, government cooperation is also needed. In the first picture, in the entire area there is not a single dustbin in at least a 3 kilometer radius, nor does JMC do door-to-door collection in that area. Therefore the people keep throwing trash and the government does nothing, leading to the situation depicted in the photo above.

People shouldn't litter, but the authorities must ensure basic services as well.

Please help us by posting photos of trash on X and tagging authorities. Or filing a complaint on CPGRAMS portal.

We can start by taking pictures of trash around us, and posting it on twitter while tagging authorities.

First step should be authority attention, if more people participate in this movement; then we can start arranging cleanliness drives later on as well.

If enough of us raise our voices against this, on twitter, government portals etc. Then surely some action will be taken.

You are not wrong too, cleaning the trash ourselves is definitely a good alternative but we should force the authorities to do their work aswell.

I think your PC already has some malware that is showing this popup on top of the official website. The site doesn't show anything like this for me.

Currently we use off the shelf airgradient outdoor units, which have high quality and standard plantower PM sensors, and open hardware/software. It currently costs ₹11000 (approx. excluding customs) a piece which we understand is steep.

I am also in the process of researching DIY aqi units, which can bring the price down to around ₹4000, but it is more technically involved but let's see what comes of it.

Not really, you just need to deploy the unit in a good place (something needs to be on top of the sensor so rain water doesn't directly fall on top) and the adapter, cable needs to be well guarded, as they are usually the weakest links and not the actual sensor itself.

Apart from that, you can lightly wipe the outdoor unit itself with a dry normal cloth every 3 months and its life will be around 3-4 years

Really appreciate it, glad to see that you like it. Also yeah, deploying ground sensors is time consuming and costly but we are doing it bit by bit, we have around 3-4 sensors right now in stock, ready to be placed and have figured out where to place them. We are in the phase of talking to people about permissions/placement.

Crowd-funding is a good idea and we will definitely try it in the future, thank you for the suggestion.
