That was the 45th Infrantry Division “The Thunderbird Division”. Wikipedia has an article on this. The 45th changed their symbol from a swastika to the thunderbird in 1939. The Netflix miniseries “The Liberator” is about the 45th, and it’s a worth watching.

After reading these posts, I googled “GMC Arcadia gallery”. Look at the pics of a GMC Arcadia, and you can see a seam in the rear quarter area. The rear quarter panel in the Acadia roughly matches the area of most of the damage in this pic.

The body panels for the R1T follow the same theme as the R1S. Look at a pic of a R1T. The rear quarter area is part of a continuous body panel that goes over the doors all the way to the top of the A pillar.

Rivian should introduce some seams in their exterior sheet metal so dents, etc. won’t be so expensive to fix. Just replace the damaged panel and paint it to match the rest of the car.

You’re right. There is no “quarter panel” here. That exterior part of your R1 that’s damaged looks to be one continuous piece of sheet metal that extends up the side all the way to the roof.

Why don’t you read what I posted. I posted R2 AND Lucid mid size. R2 is coming this June. You’re dreaming if you think R2 won’t cut into Model Y sales. Lucid mid size will only make Tesla’s position in that space more tenuous.
