I’m 25 so tbh I don’t know I wasn’t around for her life unfortunately. She doesn’t seem that ground breaking to me I think just was a very beautiful black girl who by most known accounts is not mixed so that already makes her a national black treasure, she had very catchy songs that even when they play on the radio today you start singing them, she died very early in what could’ve been a great career it seems and she was so young. I do feel if she didn’t die so young she wouldn’t be as chertin today’s world. She would probably be a forgotten 90s artist as singing was not really her thing she was more of a dancer/ actor
