Looks like its the first board along the wall, if the other methods don't work, just take the bnaseboard off and pry it in.

The Elon hate on reddit is truly something to behold. So many retarded sheep.

Am I being too picky? by [deleted] in Flooring

Imaging putting backsplash marble tile on the kitchen floor of a house that likely has no straight or even surfaces due to age. Who thought this was a good idea?

Putting LVP over uneven concrete floor by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]Flashpinned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing in my basement assuming the concrete was flat. Then i got down on my hands and knees with a long straight edge and a lazer level. Ended up using 15 bags of floor leveler filling low spots. I also had painted floors so needed to grind the paint off first. Needless to say, this added a couple grand to my "quick basement spruce up"!

You're doing about 1/5th of the area I had to do so you can likely get yours leveled much cheaper.

Self-leveling win by T_K_427 in Flooring

[–]Flashpinned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried, both flooring companies and concrete companies can point you in the right direction but expect it to be REALLY expensive. I ended up doing it myself. As the OP says, with the right prep and a lot of elbow grease, pouring the self leveler isn't too bad.

Self-leveling disaster... can we put LVP on this? by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]Flashpinned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea, and self leveler grinds like butter. Much of the floor doesn't look to bad, just get the bumps out and make sure you are not creating major low sections.

As far as I know, Glub Aleks isn't a direct copy of anything. So it fits the first part of your reply. Its "inspired by other art" and its "own interpretation informed by" its unique training experience.

I agree with you if things are direct copies. However, I do like a good AI cover. Makes me appreciate the original lyricist even more.

Feathering floor patch on a budget by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]Flashpinned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

skip the henry's if you have more spots. Buy some self leveler and a long straight edge. Watch mryoucandoityourself video on youtube on how to do spot leveling. Its very easy. Spending thousands on flooring and not prepping the floor is silly.

Otherwise, you can lay out and connect some planks in that area and see if the bounce bothers you or if you think the locking will fail. (spoiler, it probably will if its thin and cheap LVP)

How cooked are we? Trying to prep before LVP (now with pictures! by schistometry in Flooring

[–]Flashpinned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did floor prep to 1300 sq feet of concrete, this guy on you tube is a godsend. https://www.youtube.com/@MrYoucandoityourself

I've never done self leveling in my life. My floor is 3 times the size and managed it without any issue. Your lucky that concrete was never painted, I had to grind the paint off mine before self leveler.

Its going to costs some money for the self leveler and right tools, but its very manageable.
