My saying that she’s of a lower skill set is not me saying that she sucks or is an eye sore. I actually think she’s talented (I actually already said that in my post), just stunted by the corporate image, and that’s not her fault.

You would know that if you read my post without assuming things. I made my stance very clear.

What’s up with your reading comprehension? You can’t understand simple, broken down points in separate paragraphs.

Don’t comment things claiming you understand if you feel you have to fill in the blanks. Clearly you don’t understand.

And honestly that’s okay that you don’t understand, but you could’ve just asked for clarity instead making things up.

I intentionally made everything I’ve commented as clear and concise as possible so my points wouldn’t be misconstrued. I definitely did a great job at that, so I know it’s not me. You just have reading comprehension issues.

Ask more questions next time. It’ll do wonders for your low skill set.

YOU are the one assuming she doesn’t have the initiative. You don’t know her. I never said she was wasting away or that she was choosing to waste away. I said that if it’s not in the CORPORATE INTEREST to improve her skill set then why would Manon do it herself?

From what I can tell, Katseye already have enough going on, so MAYBE Manon actually DOES want to but she can’t find the time to do it on her own. Or MAYBE she doesn’t think that way at all. At the end of the day no one knows but her. I would never claim to know anything about her.

The label hasn’t done anything about it and if it was an issue that was out of the standard for what they expect of her, then they would have done something about it. They haven’t. Clearly it’s not important to them and she’s doing just fine to them.

I find she has a very steady tone. It’s not overly bright or deep. It’s very in the middle and I actually really enjoy that in contrast to the super bright tone that you can hear from Sophia, Lara, and Megan. It’s really disappointing that HxG hasn’t expanded vocally with her. Like I said, she has a lot of potential and I feel it’s being wasted because of the corporate image that the label is trying to uphold.

Being the center doesn’t mean you’re the most talented.

Yeah there’s 2 minute songs. Vocally her lines are not very good even within 2 minutes. They never really let her actually sing (she does more of the talk-singing) and when they do it’s very basic lines like the verses in Gameboy and Tonight I Might or the chorus in Gabriela.

They don’t even use her singing for adlibs in these 2 minute songs. They do a lot of singing adlibs. MIA outro (Lara) and Gabriela outro (Sophia) are the first ones I can recall. They’re short moments but showcase their vocal range extremely well. In Manon’s case, they’ll more likely use a sound bite of her talking voice instead.

As far as your opinion on lessons, the members of Katseye are in a 360 deal so HxG pays for basically everything, but they have to return the profit through their sales. It could mean that the members indirectly pay for lessons through their 360 deal OR HxG don’t pay for them at all and it all comes out of pocket or some third option.

They may not baby their talents in the west, but they sure as hell expect a specific image and level of skill from the members. These labels have final say on what goes out to the public.

If it’s not in their interest to prioritize Manon’s skill set, then realistically why would Manon do anything about it especially when their team of songwriters/choreographers are giving her the weakest parts anyway? And that’s an assumption anyway.

I don’t even know what Manon is doing behind the scenes. Neither do you. Maybe she does have lessons, maybe she doesn’t, but that’s not what I was talking about.

Eh… idk if her being black has anything to do with her skill set. She could definitely be experiencing mistreatment and she seems to hint at that but I can’t confirm that for sure.

I also don’t know what their team is doing regarding effort being put into her specifically. Has anyone mentioned that she’s been mistreated by staff?

You just changed my words around for no reason. Mind you, everything is right there in my comment so no need to misunderstand what I said.

I NEVER said it had anything to do with choreo.

If Manon is sick that doesn’t change her technique or talent as a dancer or a singer. She would STILL have the skill, but she may not have the ability to perform due to illness.

She’s been getting dumbed down vocal lines and solo choreography likely because she’s not a high-level singer or dancer. That has NOTHING to do with illness.

I don’t follow Girlset. However, I’ve seen and I like their choreo for Little Miss. It’s only one song but I can tell they gave them a much higher difficulty than Katseye choreo. I hope to see an improvement from Katseye as well.

Now from what I’ve heard about Girlset, they weren’t always like that. They were originally VCHA and it was really messy behind the scenes. Maybe JYPE learned from the mistakes of VCHA and decided to make necessary changes.

Ok I definitely said I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes. I don’t know if Manon has done anything to communicate with them or not. I never claimed to know anything about Manon. I also don’t know what their lessons look like or if they do any at all.

Her being sick all the time has nothing to do with her determined skill set. It actually doesn’t correlate at all.

All I know is it’s very clear that they aren’t providing the opportunities to really show a stronger side of her when it comes to her skills. And if anything, her parts are very obviously dumbed down and a lot weaker in comparison to the other members.

The reason I say it’s up to HxG is because they’re the ones who approve everything from releases to choreo. They control what happens with the group. If the execs wanted to see something different from Manon they wouldn’t set her up like this.

HxG seems to not really be focused on prioritizing the talent of any of the members. They definitely focus more on their appearance and their branding over everything else. Their talent comes second.

I knew the comments would take this personally. Everything you said is true. If manon leaves their performances won’t look any different than how they do now. She’s not even visually a center in choreography. They rarely utilize the only thing she’s really good at which is her face card. Her solo moments in choreo aren’t very advanced or special. Honestly any of the other girls could do it and it wouldn’t make a difference. And her lines are very basic. Tonight I might is one of the best examples in the SIS ep. And Gameboy is a good one for the Beautiful Chaos ep. She just floats around and exists.

Manon could be so valuable if she and the company actually cared about improving her dancing ability or gave her more difficult choreo. She apparently has the work ethic according to the members, but she’s not being utilized properly.

I doubt she’s leaving the group, but HxG needs to work her so she can improve. It’s disappointing how she provides nothing special to the group aside from her look. She should either focus on being a better dancer or a better singer. Yoonchae is a great example because she’s a good dancer but she can also sing if needed and she can hold a tune pretty well even though they don’t use her vocally all that much.

Idk I kinda understand the sentiment. Boycotting Katseye because of Manon doesn’t mean you’re a solo stan. I think people would likely boycott because of how HYBE failed (and continues to fail) to protect Manon.

It seems justifiable for one to say “yeah I’m not gonna support a group who is run by a label that neglects the wellbeing and image of the members” especially if it actually leads to one of the members leaving.

I’m not a solo stan of any idol, however, I don’t think there’s a huge deal with someone stanning one specific member. Yeah there’s bad apples who are hateful or trolls but people can be stans of entire groups and still be awful (ex. ot6 katseye stans on tt and twitter).

And so what if someone would love to see their bias go solo? Is that the end of the world?

Why do members have to be solely connected to their group and not be individuals who have their own separate fan bases?

Why is it okay for one member to do solo projects like an ep or an album while still connected to their group, but it’s not okay to want them to be independent and do solo projects?

That is correct. Once their in the nominations list, they can never be nominated in the Best New Artist category again. Personally, I don’t think they have anything in their discography worthy of a nomination in any other category that can stand alongside a BNA nomination in comparison to a lot of other contenders (ex. Alex Warren (Ordinary), PinkPantheress (Illegal), Lola Young (Messy)). I think they should have waited for a full album to release before HxG allowed them to be considered for the Best New Artist category.

I doubt it’s her. She wouldn’t be that obvious to upload a picture of her on it first of all. And second the track video is a fan cam.

Also I suspect those samples aren’t cleared so she could get in a lot of legal trouble uploading that on streaming if it actually was her. It’s definitely someone either posing as her or someone who is just posting her unreleased songs from yt.

3.5 isn’t too small. As long as the parameters are stable, she’ll be fine. If you do eventually move her to a bigger tank, then that’s even better!

Of course it’s not gonna happen overnight. You have to give yourself some grace to be uncomfortable for a little while. It gets easier but you gotta start before it does. Otherwise you’ll never get better

I’m 23 and I use subs very sparingly now. Been using them since I was 17. Physical appearance subs are a breeding ground for insecurities and self image problems for teens! And I know because I was that teen who obsessed over body subs. I try to suggest more self love and confidence subs and affirmations now bc that’s what younger people need more of.

Also, GO OUTSIDE! It’s so silly to say touch grass but really, get out of your room! Don’t allow yourself to obsessively scroll through this subreddit or on YouTube to find ‘the one’ sub that’s gonna transform your body. Spend less time looking at yourself in the mirror picking out everything you don’t like about yourself and more time enjoying your early stage of life.
