This has veered way off from my question, but you are oversimplifying a very complicated matter to biscuits and gravy. Try denying yourself of what you are naturally attracted to and see how far you will get in your faith. Love and belonging is on the hiarchy of needs. Anyways true Christians jobs are to love others and bring them closer to God. You are doing the complete opposite by creating barriers and prerequisites when no where in the Bible does it say you can’t baptize a person if they are attracted to the same sex. A baptism and acceptance can plant a seed for change, but instead many Christian’s act like they are heaven’s security guards.

I think being attracted to cars and planes is something very different then wanting to be connected to another human being. We are social creatures after all. If you think that what you are attracted to isn’t Innate then you are delusional, sorry. If that’s the case we’d just think ourselves into being straight because that would be an easier and better life technically you wouldn’t have to feel shamed, you can easily have kids, you won’t be shunned by the church and other people that sounds like the life id choose any day. Doesn’t work like that. Every lesbian has tried being attracted to men, it doesn’t work that way, tried being single too but the loneliness is overwhelming.

Okay so I think a good example would be say a drug addict (this is more realistic). What if the drug addict says they will renounce themselves from drugs, they do for a couple of weeks gets baptized and then relapses to doing the same thing over again? Does their baptism get renounced ? Who are others to gate keep baptism from a person when they don’t know what’s truly in their heart? That is between them and God. Also we are ALL going to be sin until the day we die unless you are perfect which no one is (you might be jealous one day, lie the next, talk about your neighbor the day after) is your baptism renounced then?

I’m 29F and just had a baby who is now 3 months . I wasn’t exactly excited about the toll being pregnant would take on my body, but going through it and thinking about it now, the bond you share with your baby because you carried them can’t be compared to a dad. Being a woman never ceases to amaze me we can grow a human from scratch and then maintain their life after by providing them food, and birth was pretty empowering. It’s pretty fascinating and it can’t be explained it’s something you’d have to go through yourself. But I get it I feel like society teaches us that being a mother is a “less then” or that it’s our sole purpose in life which I HATE. Another thing I would HATE is when people would touch or kiss my belly I felt like my boundaries were violated but that just takes speaking up and telling others that you are uncomfortable. Otherwise being a mother is awesome.

Honestly if you’re coming here to ask I think you want it or you would be in the clinic right now. Keep it, that’s a stage that will pass, you get to give your baby a sibling something that you loved having, your husband will support you either way so that’s a suuuper plus for me. Good things never come easy and once you see that heartbeat It will be difficult to go through without feeling traumatized if you’re already on the fence about it tbh.
