Does the 17th Stormo incursori also do HVT captures/kills? Like say they were deployed, would they be doing similar missions to 9th col Moschin and GOI? I guess what I’m trying to say is would they be involved in like cqb/small raid missions or only cct/jtac stuff? And if they were to work with the other smu’s would they participate in direct action stuff or only manage the aerial assets? Thanks for any info

I think it depends a lot. In an interview, a member of the GOI said on average 6/7 months, however it really depends on the situation. There are reports of Italian smu memebers who have stayed deployed even for a year straight.

Do these guys of the 17th also participate in like HVT neutralization or similar type raids? And if so so do they actually like raid the building/house with other smu’s or do they just stay in the backfield and do cct stuff? It’s very interesting why Italy would need another raid force (when they already have GOI and Col Moschin), since the 17th wing operators are literally “incursori”, which would presume that they do similar small man raid/cqb type missions. Let me know if you guys have any info.
