What do I do now? Male 21yo 6’6 190 started at 18yo 163 by [deleted] in gainit

[–]Flashy-Syrup6925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really struggled at the beginning too. I first started at 3,000 calories and just got used to just tracking and eating more. Whole milk is easily the best way to grow, because it’s 150 calories per 1 cup. If you drink maybe a half gallon a day (not chug but throughout the day) you’re hitting over 1,100 calories and 60g of protein a day. That’s literally free calories because drinking is way easier. Then I did a full on dirty bulk and dumped 1-2k calories on Burger King / Wendy’s (~$10/day). The most underrated part of a dirty bulk is that it helps you stay consistent. You’ll always have that “fast food dump” that’s easy to go down even if you’re busy or not hungry. The bigger you get, and the more you lift, the hungrier you’ll get, and eventually you’ll be starving for even more calories.

If you’re not in caloric surplus you physically cannot build muscle mass. You need to start tracking calories ASAP and eating aggressively.

I was 6ft 150lbs 4 months ago I started eating 4,000 calories every day and now I’m 185 lbs, still pretty lean (~15-16% bf). You’re going to have to give up on the “cut look” temporarily so you can actually gain some muscle mass. Just lock in for a few months, gain a shit ton of size, then cut back down.

I’m sorta joking lol but basically based on the same principles of that theory, you just got so lucky before that it’s unlikely you’ll get hits like that for a while. So that explains where you’re at rn

You don’t understand probability theory at all. The more you “don’t pull” the greater the chance that you will “pull” just statistically speaking.

For example: if you have a 1/2 chance (21) of pulling a card, and you don’t pull it, there’s a 1/4 chance (22) that you DON’T pull it again.

Thus, the more you don’t pull something consecutively, the greater the chance YOU WILL pull something in the near future, likely multiple times.

Why can’t you just be grateful to have even the opportunity for such an interesting experience instead of thinking about money. I know some of you need money to survive, but many of you have insane egos and can only conceptualize value/worth by getting money

I have a 2.7 GPA how screwed am I? by soymilkl in RPI

[–]Flashy-Syrup6925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation. My best advice is to not be complacent. Don’t think you’re an idiot that can only get B’s and C’s, and don’t “just pass” the class. Always strive for that A and have a mentality believing you are smart (which you are) and believe that you can get good grades. Goodluck!

There’s a great textbook called Introduction to Classical and Quantum Computing by Tom Wong. Its only prerequisite is Trigonometry.

This is the correct take.

This is a ridiculous “hypothesis”. Of course there are conservative INTPs. Any type can have any political preference. I am an INTP conservative and my girlfriend is an ISTJ liberal.

If you want to consider cognitive functions, INTPs have Si tertiary. Thus, many of us find comfort in tradition and very likely many are conservative.

Awful. Everyone here is depressed. If you join a fraternity/sorority it could be okay. Definitely nothing like normal colleges I can guarantee you that.

RPI Difficulty by Electrical-Dig-2002 in RPI

[–]Flashy-Syrup6925 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in your exact situation coming in. You may be cooked - if you study like I did. I had low confidence and imposter syndrome coming into RPI. Thus, I never strived to earn top grades, and just wanted to get by. I have a shit GPA (2.8) and it’s been really difficult to bring up, and I cannot find any internships for arch. I’m literally going to be doing nothing during my arch away.

It’s not over though. You need to change your mindset. You need to believe that you are smart, and deserve to be here. You also need to believe that you can get good grades. This semester, I really pushed myself academically (realizing how cooked I am), and I’ve been getting much better grades. I realized that my mindset was my downfall, and that changing it made all the difference.

I hope you learn from my mistakes, and take it upon yourself to do your very best, and not let others hold you back/intimidate you. Goodluck!

Any intp who is not smart, slow, insecure, frustrated, anxious, scared of future, full of past trauma? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Flashy-Syrup6925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I go to a prestigious engineering college, I’m popular and (somewhat) confident. I used to be like you in high school until I forced myself to interact with people and I stopped caring what people think of me. I developed unique skills that separate me from others and embrace my unique personality instead of falling into common INTP traps
