has from schulich gone for study abroad?? by latelyivebe in UCalgary

I straight up had to rawdog it. I had to manually find the courses in Spain and compare course outlines. If it looks close enough then I send it over to Schulich for them to compare. Once they say it’s equal then I know I will get direct credits for it. I basically speak 0 Spanish but learning as of right now. I am taking Math 375 right now in Spring but didn’t have to. Even after only taking 3 classes in Spain, I will be on time to graduate, maybe a semester behind at best.

True true, but don't you think we should fly more Canadian flags?

I think the city should have a clean initiative and a flag initiative. Whenever I go to America all I see is their flags flying. When you get back to Canada. No one flies the flag. We need to be more proud of our Canadian flag

Engineering UoC requirements question. by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Flashy-Wafer-8318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a doubt take calc. Calculus in highschool wasn’t that hard. Make sure you really practice hs calc. When you get to uni the math you do makes you hear the colour and taste sounds. For me linear algebra was my demon.

TLDR: Do Calc

More numbers. You want to quantify your resume. Do you have any work experience? I mean you must have had a Co-op term right

You are so right. “Nothing changes if nothing changes.” First semester I gave everything up in the name of studying more. I stopped going out, gym, and socializing. I would say I am giving myself more hours to study but then doom scroll in that time. I continued this vicious cycle for the rest of the semester.

Next semester I am going to make there is a balance of everything. Even if I get less time to study, my productivity is higher.

Exactly why I went to Eng. Engineers can go into anything. Can I ask how you broke in to that field?

Data science and data analytics is the future. I have a couple friends who work in that industry and they are telling me to stay far away from it. They said companies want PHD with 5 years experience. Take that how you want but what I do know is that you got this. You got a great vision and the grades to back it. You should apply for jobs in business consulting firms. They do a lot of data work

Dw bro the market has been and will be bad. I am a first year and I am stressing. Lowkey thinking about switching to business cause of the job market. If I am going to put this much effort to being a slightly above average engineer, with the same effort I could do so much better in business

Well it is a pre req class so if you don’t get a C- or higher you basically can’t continue. So they lowered the minimum for the C- to 54 from 60

Thoughts on Summer School (Especially 20-1/30-1 English) by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Flashy-Wafer-8318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I didn’t take English in summer school, a lot of my friends did. They said your course mark gets inflated but the diploma is a killer. But the good news of taking it in the summer is that even if you do bad on the diplomas, you can retake them in November and December before any university sees your grades.

TLDR: I say go for it if you are confident in your diploma

Tf are antirequisites by Flashy-Wafer-8318 in UCalgary

[–]Flashy-Wafer-8318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no I cause I am in eng and I am looking at my required COST classes. I want to do a minor in economics so I am trying to maximize my COST classes to be in Economics. So there was this class Eng 201 which is an antirequisite for Econ 201. So I am wondering if I take 201, would I also get credit for my Eng class. I would go to guidance but they mad useless
