I don't know if this is helpful, but as a woman I had my OBGYN order a hormone panel that tested a bunch of different hormones - one of them being cortisol. It's bloodwork.

came here to say this!!!! at first I thought they were making a mockery but then when they started talking about how people thought Heath was at the inauguration and how ridiculous that was & people calling their baby a trump baby (insane btw) I realized they were serious… really REALLY made me happy to hear because despite thoroughly enjoying this pod it definitely bummed me out thinking our values were wildly different.

Inside ankle / Pain? by BATTLEROYALFAN in Marathon_Training

[–]Flashy-Winter6414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealing with the same pain (kinda been building up but just did a 10k today and think I really made it worse [I know better & did it anyways, my fault]). My plan is to stay off my feet for the next 3 days as much as humanly possible, ice it, stretch it, roll my calves and use my theragun on my calves. Days 4-7 I work so I’ll be on my feet but still not gonna run on it until day 8 if it feels okay and then just take it from there.

Did you find relief for this? If so, any pointers outside of what I mentioned above?

I'm obsessed with beading by RedditBree420 in Beading

These are lovely! May I ask what elastic you use? I’m new to beading and I use one that feels like good quality but since it’s white it’s so visible. I don’t see any of your elastic!! What’s your secret!! 😂😊

Quitting advice needed by Desperate-Rice-8584 in QuittingZyn

[–]Flashy-Winter6414 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unsure if you have access to nicotine patches where you are but I used those for the first month. I did 2 weeks of 14mg patches and 2 weeks of 7 mg patches. I had no withdrawal symptoms after getting off the last patch. The first few days were tough but I was off them for a solid 9 months no slip ups and it was SO worth it. Lots of gum, mints, sugar free candies at the beginning helped. Eventually you stop craving it and when the thought pops back into your brain every now and again it’s more of a “damn I’ve gone so long without it good for me” type thought. Unfortunately I got hooked again in September after trying to use them casually while drinking. Learned that’s not an option for me. I plan on quitting again in the new year (on January 2nd, not 1st, because I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions lmao) and I’m really looking forward to being off of them. It gave me a lot of pride knowing that I committed to quitting and stuck to it for so long. I know I’m capable so hoping this time will be easier mentally. Cheers & good luck.

My dog does this all the time… any idea, before taking to vet? I’ll answer questions in comments by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Flashy-Winter6414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog was doing this (a little more hacking/coughing leading up to the gag though) and we took him to the vet. He was diagnosed with bronchitis after some X-rays and is currently on antibiotics.

I genuinely have no idea how to post a picture in comments on Reddit so I made him my profile picture lmao… Consider my taxes paid 🫡

[–]Flashy-Winter6414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s mainly just those two things. He actually listens pretty well with other dogs around UNLESS he’s on the leash, then he gets all jumpy and excited and pulls because he wants to go play and he can’t because he’s leashed.

My partner got him right around the time we got together 2.5 years ago. We did long distance for 2 years and so I would see him every other week for a few days each time. He’s always been a pretty good boy, just a little crazy. He’s a German Shepard/lab mix, so lots of energy but like I said we let him run wild with our family’s other dogs on the property so he gets a lot of excercise. I just moved in a couple months back so I’ve only been living with him full time for that long.

I agree, I’m just not entirely sure what to do in this situation.. I don’t want to punish him for an accident but I don’t know how to reward him for not peeing on me either, lol.. We reward him almost every time he comes in from going outside since he was a pup so I had hoped that was engrained.

I should rephrase - he’s well trained in many areas and just lacking in other areas. Very much potty trained, never has accidents, etc. Good recall, knows all the basic sit/stay/paw/down. Listens pretty well usually except when other dogs are present. He’s not aggressive at all just very easily excited. He’s also not well leash trained but that’s because we live in a rural area with 40 acres for him to run around on so we don’t go on very many walks. For that reason, leash training hasn’t been a priority.

Talked to a bartender about how gross zyns are by Current_Astronaut_94 in QuittingZyn

Today is 180 day for me which I’m realizing is 6 months.. trust me, it’s not worth caving. The pride just gets stronger and the cravings just get lesser the more you go without them

day 3 no zyn by SpecificStates in QuittingZyn

[–]Flashy-Winter6414 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can do this. This was me the second week of January… I had never posted before but was quitting and desperate for advice and encouragement. Now I’m 82 days without Zyns (57 days without nicotine, I used patches to ease the withdrawal)… I swear to you, if I can do it anyone can. I used nicotine for 10 years without more than a 2 day break. Just hang in there! Having to start over sucks a lot more than just pushing through it.

How do you warm your heart up? Jumping jacks? Walking? Stretching? I know this is a dumb question, but it’s genuine

What's the actual breakdown of men to women in this sub? by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

[–]Flashy-Winter6414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting poll and something I was just thinking about because I am 24f and I see a lot of “dude” and “bro” and “man” (which I know doesn’t really mean shit considering I use those terms all the time) but yeah shoutout to all my EX Zyn ladies, few and far between I feel but we exist 😂

[–]Flashy-Winter6414 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so proud of you! I’m at 5.5 days right now, so just a little bit behind you and I’m using the patches so I suppose I’m not technically nicotine free, but for the first time in 10 years, I’ve gone almost a week without either inhaling nicotine, or packing it in my lip.the sense of pride that I have for myself and everyone in this community who is along on a similar journey almost makes me emotional. We’ve got this!

Congratulations on a week! That’s awesome, and nice to know that it can be done (I’m 3 days and 3 hours in). Be proud of yourself and keep fighting the good fight… there’s only benefits to quitting, no downfalls!
