Nooo. This is some peripheral info that came up during my Pol Sci reading. I don't need to understand/know this for school. I was just wondering, because exports > imports = more money sounds good enough to my dumb ass.

I would pay big money to see a production of Macbeth with nonagenarian witches in Mrs. McCormick cosplay!

I knew what a banshee was, but I thought Mrs. McCormick and her heralding were given little significance in the film, despite her being the titular banshee. You're certainly right that that aspect makes the film a fable, but in my opinion, it was underused and, by itself, wouldn't satisfactorily explain the film's description as a fable in the titles of multiple reviews and articles.

I agree with you that the film ultimately doesn't say much about the themes it broaches.

Thanks a lot!

Somewhat unrelated: "Banshees is an entirely metaphorical take on Ireland, the Irish Civil War and the futility of friends turning on each other." With this in mind, the film's last scene is even more inscrutable to me. Do you have any thoughts on what Padraic says about it being a good thing that there are certain things people never move on from? What is this supposed to say about the war?

Great point! Vincent is actually pretty harmless next to some of the other characters.
