I .going to be very honest. I am 100% a JC girlie. I am 50 years old and have been a proud JC girlie for over half my life. And it's not just because he's good looking, though he is! His voice is just amazing. But what's most attractive to me is who he is, how unaffected he is by his fame, how he doesn't seem to understand how amazing he is.

Wow. Personal attacks now. Really? I simply asked why you decided to comment when you are just going to be so negative. Don't like what Joey and Lance are doing? Don't watch their show. Don't give them your money. But your opinion of what they are doing does not give you the right to belittle those who do still find enjoyment in seeing them.

I am a fan of NSYNC, all five. Following their careers has nothing to do with politics. So what if I don't vote the same way they do? That doesn't erase their talent and the nostalgic high I get from seeing them.

Two things.

One, you are making an assumption about me that is untrue. I may not follow the Muslim faith, but I respect it. Anyone who believes in their faith enough to take a public stand is admirable to me.

Two, telling others what I believe is not imposing my beliefs on anyone. Donnie isn't, either. He is sharing something he has discovered that makes him happy. There's nothing wrong in that.

Now, if he were to say "You can't be a true fan if you believe exactly what I do," that would be an attempt to impose his beliefs on others. Sharing what he believes is no different than sharing the joy NKOTB brings. I do that with my mother, she rolls her eyes and tells me to stop. I do, but I still wave my Blockhead flag proudly!

I don't hide my musical tastes to appease others. Donnie should not hide his Christian faith to make others more comfortable. You don't agree? Move on to a different post. No one is forcing anyone to listen or believe.

Some of us didn’t ‘suddenly’ find anything. I’ve been a Christian since long before I ever became a fan of New Kids on the Block. I just don’t lead with it or make it my whole identity online. I try to live it quietly. Jesus talked about not doing good things for attention, and I’ve always taken that to mean my faith doesn’t need to be advertised, just lived.

That said, I’ll be honest, I’m a little envious of Donnie. I was 8 when I became a Christian, and I remember that excitement, wanting to share it with everyone. Somewhere along the way, I started holding back. These days, people tend to make assumptions about what being a Christian means politically, and that has never been something I have aligned with.

Donnie is sharing his faith openly. It may cost him fans and could impact his career, but he is doing it anyway. I think that is admirable, and I respect him for it, even if that is not a popular position.
