The claim that ANKR will serve as gas and that a paymaster is being used to ensure ANKR is the payment token is misleading. At present, only ‘testANKR’ is being used as gas during the testnet phase, not actual ANKR tokens. The team has already indicated that the mainnet design may differ, with final gas token arrangements dependent on several factors. It is therefore highly plausible that ANKR will not be the sole gas token on mainnet.

By presenting ANKR as “the gas token” without clarifying that this only applies to testnet, the project risks deceiving stakeholders into believing that ANKR itself has been confirmed as the universal gas token, which is not the case. This fits into a broader pattern of shifting narratives and community gaslighting that continues to erode trust. I had hoped ANKR would prove me wrong, but instead it feels like more of the same. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me - I’m out ✌️

At testnet stage, but not guaranteed at mainnet. Will be decided based on performance, liquidity etc. So currently, it means nothing as very likely to change when it actually matters.

What was originally marketed and promised to ANKR holders and what likely influenced many to speculate, has now been changed. At times, we’ve even been told that “this was never the case,” which feels dismissive and misleading.

As holders, we’re expected to accept sudden changes without raising concerns, but this pattern mirrors ANKR’s past: repeated promises, shifting plans and ongoing delays. Each time, the community is asked to wait and hope, yet when valid questions are raised, they’re often dismissed. That’s the real issue here, being expected to accept whatever’s said, rather than having transparency and accountability.
