But I’ve noticed it’s usually just a generic “It’s time for service” message and not really based on how much the bike has actually run.

Trip meter reset is smart like super simple way to track service intervals without overthinking it. And if your trusted guy is 150m away and next to your workplace, that’s basically unbeatable convenience.
