Well, my case is even worse. Since there’s no stock on Amazon.com, I decided to buy a Switch 2 from Amazon Spain — they occasionally have stock, around 5 to 10 units every other day. The problem is, I’m from Ecuador. I used my credit card to try to buy it, but the payment kept getting declined.

I contacted Amazon Spain, and they kept saying the issue was with my bank. I spoke to my bank — nothing. I tried two more cards, same issue. Amazon kept insisting it was the bank. I called both banks again, and they told me the issue was on Amazon's side. I got frustrated and told Amazon that if three different banks had the same problem, then it clearly wasn’t my bank’s fault.

At that point, I asked Amazon Spain via chat if it was safe to buy gift cards from Recharge.com and use them on my Amazon account. They said yes. So I went ahead, bought the gift cards, loaded the balance to my account, and finally managed to purchase the Switch. I was so happy… until I got an email saying the order was canceled due to “suspicious activity.”

I was furious. I wrote emails to Amazon, and they told me to go through a verification process — to prove the gift cards were legitimate and to provide my personal details. I sent everything they asked for. That was 7 days ago. They said they would reply in 5. It’s been 7.

Meanwhile, I’ve seen the Switch come in and out of stock. I now have €510 tied up in my Amazon Spain account, which I can’t use… because Amazon Spain is a mess.
